California has enormously expensive and intrusive government that can’t even provide firefighters or water when your neighborhood burns down.
Astonishingly devastating fires are burning mostly unchecked in Los Angeles, destroying whole neighborhoods, and see if you can spot the problem in this Yahoo News update I found in my inbox this week:

As of that report, thousands of acres of fire burning into (and then straight through) neighborhoods; 1,400 firefighters. In Pacific Palisades alone, where the biggest fire started first, we’re below one firefighter per two acres of fire. I’ve spent most of my life in California, and a quite common experience is to be in way-Northern California, for example, and watch a line of fire engines go racing past from San Diego and Newport Beach, 500 miles from home. We deal with big fires with prompt statewide mutual aid, a well-practiced system.
I live near the Eaton fire, which is burning in the hills above Pasadena, and I listened all Tuesday night for the cavalry to arrive. The cavalry, bizarrely, did not seem to arrive. And so I watched houses burn, on the news, with reporters present but no firefighters.

Tyrants, yes. But the opposite of anarchist.
Communist Tyrants.
SAW an interview where a person recalled a fireman friend who stated that THOSE USUAL FIRE BREAKS ALL OVER THE HILLS AROUND LA were no longer being maintained:
Someone declared that the fire break interferred with the migratory patterns of a MOUSE.
IT was an older firefighter who had worked on those fire breaks for years.
There are sprinkler remote control systems and home monitoring systems.
Homeowners can act as their own firemen from motel rooms miles away.
Yeah.
I think it’s a bit of a misnomer but understand.
To my mind it’s not anarchy but choices a despotic government makes.
They are not abdicating their authority, only selectively using and abusing it.
They voted for it. Loved it. Loved going to the social parties. Rubbing elbows. Being liked. Fake smiles. Get along to go along.
Too stupid to survive, really.
Bkmk
And this is what they paid for.
I’m disappointed that there were no white males capable of leading the area. The police chiefs, fire chiefs, and city managers are all lesbians or black. These were the most qualified to lead the city of LA?
Is that real?
It might as well be.
Seriously though. This is what they wanted. They had an opportunity to elect the competent businessman Rick Caruso but all of those wealthy Democrat liberals whose homes are now ash heaps decided they needed to do their George Floyd virtue signaling and go with Communist social worker Karen Bass.
So, yes, that pic might be AI but it is very much real.
I should have realized it was AI. Thanks.
Not if there is no water.
The people who saved their house used their swimming pool water. Can't do that remotely.
This one is real.
No they really can’t. You need internet service to operate these devices/systems and you need to have water available for them to work. You also need to be able to put water on the roof because that is the part that starts burning first. Maybe you are partly right in that a fire caused by a candle or a pot on a stove could be stopped from a hotel room, if there is a wildfire blazing through the neighborhood chances are good that the internet is down, power is off, and water is only coming out at tap water quantities assuming there is enough pressure on the 3/4 inch main water line into the house.
Governor Newsome and LA mayor Karen Bass are almost certain to be political casualties of these fires. However, l have little hope even these devastating fires will cause the hard core liberals to give a second thought to continuing to elect leftists little different than Newsome and Bass
