Mammoth spending bill has clause that would let Congress block subpoenas for House data, "potentially preventing any investigation into the J6 Committee"

Benny Johnson

@bennyjohnson · Follow 🚨BREAKING: A new provision in the latest CR lets Congress block subpoenas for House data, including emails, potentially preventing any investigation into the J6 Committee.

If you haven't heard, Congress is trying to pass a ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PAGE omnibus bill. A typical tactic of politicians for decades has been to attach a whole bunch of hidden clauses into a massive-yet-critical spending bill that no one can physically read and process in its entirety.

Thanks to Elon Musk's X, there's a place for people to read the bill together and find things that are hidden (X's AI, Grok, will also be able to read and summarize these bills in the future).

Speaking of Elon, here is his reaction:

And some more:

VIDEOS AND TWEETS AT LINK....................

I should note that on Tuesday, we reported that a House committee recommended an investigation into Liz Cheney for allegedly colluding with witnesses in the J6 hearings.

House report says Liz Cheney should be investigated for witness tampering at J6 hearings Welp, I think I know who Biden is going to pardon next. NOTTHEBEE.COM https://notthebee.com/article/house-report-says-liz-cheney-should-be-investigated-for-witness-tampering-at-j6-hearings Incoming DOGE lord Vivek Ramaswamay said this about the bill:

The bill could have easily been under 20 pages. Instead, there are dozens of unrelated policy items crammed into the 1,547 pages of this bill. There's no legitimate reason for them to be voted on as a package deal by a lame-duck Congress.

The deadline for passing a bill to keep the government going is Friday.

(How about we just shut the whole thing down as a Christmas gift to America?)

THE ONLY THING GOVERNMENT EVER PROTECTS IS ITSELF...............

There should be ZERO protections for Congress now. Release everything, release all of the payoffs, all of the Ethics reports, all of the people who leaked classified info. Release it all. Prosecute everyone.

There is one party in Washington DC, they want your money and not your opinion. It’s a government of the government, by the government, for the government and they could care less about the people.

This has to end one way or another. Either with my death (for whatever reason they decide) or the deaths of those involved in all of this evil by treason trials and execution. This country simply can NOT continue as it is with all of these crimes being perpetrated. Either they kill us for opposing them, OR, we have them executed for treasonous acts which are destroying this country. There remains no middle ground with the things that they keep doing.

The first page on the doc mentions disaster relief and emergency reforestation. We got hammered by Helene. I lost over 200 acres of timber. I know other landowners who lost much more. The area is covered in pine forests that were devastated. I’m ok with this expenditure. The 40% raise for congresscritters, not so much. Also no way they protect the likes of the J6 committee.

At what point do you leave the past in the past? .....let Trump free those in prison from Jan 6th....and be done with it. You’ll never convict any politician...never.

Don’t I recall someone or another who refused to let a few things through because it had NOTHING to do with spending? It was Elizabeth MacDonough, the Senate Parliamentarian. Appointed in 2012, she serves as the nonpartisan arbiter of Senate rules and procedures. In this capacity, she determines whether legislative provisions comply with Senate rules, particularly during the budget reconciliation process, which allows certain budget-related bills to pass with a simple majority.

Of course, this is House, but doesn’t the Senate have some input too?
