President-elect Donald Trump told NBC News' "Meet the Press" on Sunday that his inaugural address would focus on unity, and revealed his message to the Americans who did not support him on Election Day.
"I’m going to treat you every bit as well as I have treated the greatest MAGA supporters," Trump said, responding to a question about what he wanted to tell the people who didn't vote for him.
Trump joined NBC News' Kristen Welker on Sunday for his first major interview since winning the presidential election. Trump previously joined Welker for an interview in September 2023 and was the NBC host's inaugural guest after she took over for longtime host Chuck Todd.
"These people are so dedicated to making America great again, it’s very simple. And I’m going to treat them just the same as I treat MAGA. We’ll treat everybody good. We want success for our country, we want safety for our country," the president-elect added.
Trump emphasized bringing down crime and said that the U.S. was "under threat." The president-elect also said he wanted to improve the country's reputation.
"I want to treat everybody the same. I want to treat them well," Trump added.
"But we have to get the criminals of our country. We have to bring down crime. People have to be able to walk across the street and buy a loaf a bread without being shot. And that’s going to happen. But what I say to them is, I love you, and we’re going to all work together. And we’re going to bring it together. And you know what’s going to bring it together? Success," he said.
Trump also told Welker his inaugural address would focus on a message of unity.

"It’s going to be a message of unity, and I think success brings unity. And I’ve experienced that. I’ve experienced it in my first term, as I’ve said. We’re going to be talking about unity, and we’re going to be talking about success. Making our country safe. Keeping people that shouldn’t be in our country out, we have to do that. I know it doesn’t sound nice, but we have to do that. Basically, it’s going to be about bringing our country together," Trump said, previewing his address.
Well, that didn't sound like something Hitler would say did it?
Wonder what The View says about this? Of course, I’ll never know.
I like it, good and needed theme.
Harris didn’t actually have supporters did she? Just Democrats willing to vote for a drunken nincompoop simply because The Party told them to.
Whatever they say, it will no doubt be interrupted several times by them being required to read legal statements refuting what they just lied about.
The wide eyed Welker is too visibly emotional and invested in her own liberal views to be a serious host IMO. Trump implied this at one point in the interview but she won’t take the hint.
And you know what’s going to bring it together? Success,” he said.
The Dems who hate Trump will benefit greatly and enjoy all his accomplishments over the next 4 years - but most will still hate him and attribute all the great successes to something else, they are deranged hateful people.
A rising tide floats all boats - even those that don’t want it.
Oh, you’ll know alright, just keep reading here, on FR.
Some folks can’t go through a day without posting what those hags had to say.
The left gave credit to Obama for Trump’s successes in his first term. It was all lies, but they will have a much harder time giving credit to Biden for Trump successes in his second term.
Trump was a businessman before he was a politician.
It’s bad business to bad mouth your customer base and it’s bad politics as well.
Crooked Hillary proved that with “deplorables”.
So did Joey but I forgot what he called us America First folk.
Trump’s language is much more “measured” than Elite Stream Media gives him credit for.
Trump is not going to let anyone forget that he got more votes than any Republican candidate in history and as he told that witch on MTP, that was with the media entirely against him.
The electoral map doesn’t lie it is very red with the blue concentrated in urban s***holes.
As I posted before, the question is how could such a red map yield such a slight house majority?
Because the clowns running for House seats were too timid to go the FULL America First agenda laid out by Trump.
Welker was disgusting, interrupting and talking over the Pres
Made the “ interview” (interrogation) unbearable
God Bless Trump
May he simply not waste his time again with faux journalist agenda followers
Finally some serious consequences for the miscreants.
“Some folks can’t go through a day without posting what those hags had to say.”
Sad but true.
When my kids were young there was a book on child behavior (forget title/author) which referenced something called “extinction theory”.
The idea was that children misbehave largely because doing so gets them the attention they seek. The solution was to ignore them as much as possible - try not to reward the bad behavior by paying attention.
It worked like a charm!
The squeaky voice did NOT get the oil.
We paid attention to the good behavior and soon the poorly behaved kids would learn that if they wanted our attention they could easily earn it with good behavior.
I wish conservatives would quit paying so much attention to the noisy Left.
I wish certain FReepers would stop spreading and obsessing over fake news lies under the BS rationale that “we need to know how the enemy thinks”
May he simply not waste his time again with faux journalist agenda followersIt's not a waste of time when he comes out on top every time he does one.
It's his recipe for his success in getting his message out.
No “journalist” would ever work another week in the industry, if they spoke to ANY Democrat in the same way that Welker continually attacked and harassed President Trump in that interview.
The hatred from the Left oozes out continually when they interview anyone on the Right.
Well, that didn’t sound like something Hitler would say did it?
No indeed however the left are stuck on Socialism and Marxism agenda so much they would call God a Hitler if they don’t get their way.
