Ron DeSantis could offer Trump a KEY position in exchange for replacing Pete Hegseth as Defense chief

Donald Trump may have mastered the art of the deal once again, with rumors he will replace Pete Hegseth with Ron DeSantis as his pick to head Defense in exchange for Trump's daughter-in-law Lara getting Florida's open Senate seat. The Florida governor and Trump have reportedly had one-on-one discussions about the move. A GOP source told The Bulwark: 'These discussions are real. It's serious. I can't say it's definitely going to happen, but the governor is receptive and Trump is serious, too.'

I speculated in another thread that desantimonious was having his people leak things to the media, to stay relevant....

It's much more believable that desantis approached Trump to bribe him with an offer of giving Lara the senate seat in exchange for being nominated for Sec of Defense, than Trump approaching desantis to make a deal...

Because of what desanctimonious has done, he likely has as much a chance of being chosen for a high level position in the Trump admin, as nikki haley does....

You’re kidding right?

Besides the fact that he’s accomplished incredible things in Florida, he was stomping on woke before ANYBODY.

“Florida is where woke goes to die” he said. He was right.

He’s a great man of italian descent who is going to go on to do even greater things.

What have you done? :)

Speculation? I'll say.

DeSantis is a true Conservative, a successful Gov, a decorated Vet, and is on board supporting the forthcoming administration.

As a polite thought, my good FRiend, we might want to focus on the Dems/libs/leftists who seek to undermine the great things to come/

We’ve seen a great deal of this “speculation” before: https://freerepublic.com/tag/desantisobsession/index?tab=articles

It never stops...even when time proves it obviously wrong.

No, Trump losing this pick is the Presidency. Why give up you mandate before assuming office? Let the Repuke Senators vote him down if they don’t want him. Once exposed Trump should put him in anyways.

“bribe him with an offer of giving Lara the senate seat in exchange for being nominated for Sec of Defense”

Rod R. Blagojevich in Illinois went to prison for selling the Illinois Senate seat.

Megyn Kelly’s interview today with Hegseth sure didn’t leave me with the impression that Hegseth believes he has anything less than Trump’s full support. She directly asked Hegseth about the story & Hegseth related a small bit of a positive conversation with Trump this morning.

Is Ron term limited? Why would he give up Exec power for a cabinet spot? It’s a step down.

Rod R. Blagojevich in Illinois went to prison for selling the Illinois Senate seat.

I was just thinking, didn't we see something similar sounding in Illinois a while back. But if I remember, Blago was trying to sell Obama's senate seat for cash. Even the Nigerian taxi drivers in Chicago were laughing about how corrupt Illinois government was, and they know corruption when they see it.

“I’ve got this thing and it’s f—ing golden, and, uh, uh, I’m just not giving it up for f—-in’ nothing. I’m not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there.” — Rod Blagojevich, Nov. 5, 2008, in a conversation secretly recorded on FBI wiretap about Obama’s Senate seat.

2008, back when the FBI went after real crooks, instead of parents, Catholics, conservatives, and NASCAR.

DeSantis was one worst Republican candidates in recent Presidential history. He has no chance if he runs again.

And, Trump supporters aren't going to forget that he promised not to run against Trump and broke his promise. Or that he sold out to the Republican establishment on Ukraine.

DeSantis can't be trusted.
