Summary: This is, of course, a discussion of the email that Pete's mom sent to him during his divorce (2018) chastising.
She says that the email was sent in haste when she was upset about Pete's divorce and shortly after sending it she apologized for the email and expressed her regret for sending it.
She fully supports Pete and thanks President Trump for considering him for the SecDef post.

If Trump had all the details then he should stick with Pete for the duration.
Mom just had to have validation from her friends. So, she shared the private letter she wrote chastising her son, with all her female friends.
Thanks, Mom. You just cost your son his career by indulging your selfishness. Pete will lose millions of dollars and huge opportunities because of you!

I don’t know, he has some responsibilities himself.
He clearly is a guy who cheated on his wife and slept around.
Which IMO makes him a bad candidate for SecDef because he’s a security risk and a easy target for honeypot spy operations.
It doesn’t matter that he has the right positions on issues, he’s not reliable.

Your anger is misplaced. How does a letter sent in haste from a mother to a son end up in the hands of an avowed enemy of both? Your anger should at the little rats at the FIB who sent it to them.
His mom should just stay out of it, at this point. Her big mouth has provided ammunition for the detractors in both parties. Now, with her saying the opposite, she has lost most of her credibility. First Gaetz now possibly Hegseth gone, after the predictable smear campaigns? I hope this wont be a pattern.
Unfortunately, what she wrote is out in public now. It’s in black and white. She’s not saying she didn’t write it, she is just trying to take it back.

Trump (and we) need a confirmed SECDEF on January 20, actually quite a bit before then.
If you know Senate Republicans the way I do and you believe Hegseth can be confirmed, you are out of your mind.
Of course he would be great. Of course he leads the pack of smart highly skilled former officers with combat experience to reform the armed forces.
Lose 4 GOP Senators and none of that happens.
Then Hegseth will need to pull his name.
It was a terrific interview. But throughout I kept wondering how did the NYT get the email. I still think Pete is the right pick.

“I hope this won’t be a pattern.” It’s a laugher alright! It was the pattern with hiring the last time around and the habit remains. This time its Jethro Gaetz and now another Fox guy. Run all hires through Suzie, not Fox TV/Hannity.
