GET GOV’T OUT OF HEATHCARE!!!!

Unconstitutional Gov’t, not free enterprise, is the problem with healthcare and its prices.

Return Healthcare to the free market - the BEST healthcare system in the world.

Did giving up HFCS soft drinks come with side effects of:

headaches

nausea

rash

diarrea

rashy-diarrea

vomiting

sore throat

heart attack

stroke

aneurism

seizure

increased risk of cancer

decreased risk of life

death

upset stomach

or itchy, burning, urination?

Because if so, you may be entitled to compensation

[as in I'm tired of commercials about miracle drugs with worse side effects than the ailment.....followed by ambulance chaser commercials offering riches for people dumb enough to take the meds in the first place.]

This is a really bad idea. Our federal government needs to pay lower prices for off-patent drugs and medical products and contain the prices it pays for patented drugs and medical products through aggressive negotiation. Big Pharma and other medical companies are slowly bankrupting our country while they get super rich.

This comment by a true believer in capitalism may surprise you, but when government is one of a corporation’s biggest customers, they can’t expect to earn the same hefty profit margins from government business that they earn in the free markets. This is how defense contracting works. It’s low profit-margin, high volume business. I’ll have more to say on this in the future.

‘Big Pharma’ seems to have purchased the lion’s share of advertising time on all terrestrial radio and tv, and a huge chunk of online adverts as well. There is an eye-injection medication put to music played endlessly for weeks on end that makes me want to start cutting myself.

Return Healthcare to the free market - the BEST healthcare system in the world.

Why can't I have the same prices as Mexico and Canada? Is that free market? Why can't I order my drugs from Canada and Mexico (Congress doesn't allow it), is that free market?

Buying air time buys power and influence with the networks. Nobody will question Big Pharma or run a negative story.

The “Free market” is the marketplace FREE from Gov’t interference.

If the gov’t is interfering with your buying or selling a commodity or service, that commodity or service is not in the free market.

Note the verb, in the article's sentence.

"Drugmakers are betting Republican lawmakers and the Trump administration will be more open to changing the IRA. " [ Inflation Reduction Act ]

A more novel idea. Stop the drugmakers from "betting." No exclusivity. Patent the same length for all drugs, and then generic free-for-all thereafter for those manufacturers who wish to do so.

SIDE COMMENT: Hurrah for you, "losing" by "giving up high fructose soft drinks." My bride and I are avoiding all such products these days, and feeling the better for it. hurrah for you!

That’s it. The warnings would scare away any sensible human being. The commercials are not to sell drugs, but to buy influence.

I think RX drugs should not be allowed to be advertised on any broadcast medium. You can’t inform the public about the risks and benefits of a potentially deadly drug in a 30 second commercial.

BTW, when did they start allowing it?

Big pharma is making money hand over fist.
They need to be squashed like bugs!
What other companies can afford to run these nauseating 5 min commercials?
And, no one knows what the long term effects of many of these drugs they peddle may be including these “ weight loss” drugs. The statins they’ve peddled are not really safe to take for years- they do muscle and tendon damage long term. And then there’s Voltaren, the wonder drug that got yanked due to liver damage. Needless to say, the covid jabs are not safe either. I could provide many examples of other drugs too.
Screw big pharma!

All of The Spews advertisers are big pharma. They do that so that people cannot boycott.

There are a couple of articles out that discuss this very point.

Essentially, Big Pharma buys up commercial time not so much to increase sales of the products they are advertising, but to control the narrative of the stations they are advertising on.

If they are paying big bucks to advertise on a station, they can then tell that station, “no news stories critical of Big Pharma.”

Exactly.

Big Pharma bludgeons us with drug-pushing TV ads, followed a year or two later by class-action lawsuit ads about those same drugs.

Enough!

The commercials are to keep the Western media off their backs, as we saw with Covid ‘vaccines’ over the past few years - anyone questioning them was hit with derision.

And so the government plans to ‘save’ $25B through 2031 by negotiating prices. How much will the drug companies spend on commercials during that time? Don’t know but $100B wouldn’t surprise me (after all, it is 7 years).
