Trump Team Signs Transition Agreement but Shuns F.B.I. Clearances
The New York Times ^ | 11/26/2024 | Michael D. Shear

President-elect Donald J. Trump’s team has signed a transition agreement with the White House that will allow them to begin formal briefings with outgoing staff members in agencies across the government, Mr. Trump’s chief of staff said on Tuesday evening.

But Mr. Trump’s team has so far refused to sign an agreement with the Justice Department to allow the F.B.I. to do security clearances for transition members. Without that, Biden administration officials will be unable to share classified information with many of Mr. Trump’s transition aides.

Smart move on the part of the incoming administration. Attempts to sandbag, a la Gen. Flynn, are not happening this time. Face to face meetings, especially in secure facilities, may be inefficient, but they eliminate a lot of game playing by either the vindictive Biden staff or the deep state intelligence cadre.

The FBI are mob enforcement.

They hurt people who threaten the political classes looting of the treasury.

I’d rather see them live without classified information until our guys are in charge of the FBI.

I’m wanting to understand why the Trump Team would be less than eager to meet with the FBI in order to start receiving classified data connected with the office.

I get that many of us no longer hold much trust for the FBI or CIA or IRS, etc, after all that lawfare was done on Trump and other American citizens (J-6), but what other way will Trump’s team get that classified data?
Don’t we (conservatives) need access to that information?

They can get their background checks and clearances after DJTs inauguration and he’s had a chance to clean house of the corruption at the FBI… problem solved.

And the NYT looks like a Looney Tunes caricature fool for pretending this is a surprise

Before 20 January there's nothing they can do with the information. After 20 January is plenty soon enough.

Change the law/regulation so some other agency does the background check. Since when is the FBI the gold standard on background checks?

95% of classified material is BS. I had a TS/SCI clearance while on AD for years and I often asked myself, "What is classified about this information anyway? Classification is about power and control. Period.

Once inaugurated, Trump can clear whomever he wants. The President grants and denies clearances. Others have delegated authority to do so as the President has far more important things to do with his time.

What is this all of a suddent new thing that the president elect needs to conclude and sign “agreements” with the last administration?

Last I checked the new President does not work for the GSA or FBI. Flip em the finger. There is zero need to meet and coordinate with the outgoing administration. Especially one that has worked morning noon and night to destroy him.

Just be patient and wait, at noon on Jan 20th, walk in the door and evict everyone.

I very greatly doubt it. Trump was wise in refusing to take classified briefings because he knew they would leak details to the press and claim Trump leaked them.

He said at the time that by not taking the briefings, they can't accuse him of leaking anything.

I can't imagine any information that is important right now. We have had an absolute fool running the country (into the ground) for the last four years, and this *IDIOT* couldn't understand the information provided by the intelligence agencies anyway. He is literally a moron and he has always been wrong in both foreign and domestic policy for his entire career. (He voted to cut off funds to South Vietnam.)

Trump's team needs the information they can supply a lot less than they need to keep the corrupt people out of their business.

It was on the basis of security briefings that the FBI contrived to snare people like Michael Flynn in their perjury traps.

The FBI and the CIA are snakes, and they need to be kept out until the corrupt leadership of these organizations can all be fired.

“I’m wanting to understand why the Trump Team would be less than eager to meet with the FBI in order to start receiving classified data connected with the office.”

Yeahhhh... that’s a real brain teaser.
Maybe it has something to do with them lying, manufacturing evidence, perjuring themselves, sending FBI female whores into his organization, raiding his home and all of his lawyers, playing with Melania’s panties, being friends with the Pennsylvalia assassin, creating and leading the J6 Fedsurrection, wiretapping him, and that the very first time Comey met him he was wearing a wire and trying to lure him into a trap.

But that’s just a theory of mine. LOL

Because Trump is on to them. As happened in 2016, the Democrats run this "transition" infrastructure as an illegal surveil-and-leak system designed to assist Democrats and hurt/hamstring Republicans; it's a complex political operation with a mission to set Trump up and then turn over every document and every bit of "dirt" they uncover to their media, to law fare organizations, to future special counsel/impeachment investigators, and any other source they believe can damage Trump.

Trump figured out within about an hour last time that the "classified data briefings" are bullcrap anyway. He has better sources than they do.

Silly NYT.
It is the FBI that is going to be checked by Trump and cancelled or, at the very least, sifted for commies and other non American types.

Last I checked the new President does not work for the GSA or FBI. Flip em the finger.

Several Republican Senators (McConnell minions) are threatening to deny confirmation hearings to any nominee without a FBI background check.

Trump will outplay them, but that is what this is about.
