FRANCE AUTHORIZES UKRAINE TO STRIKE RUSSIA WITH FRENCH MISSILES

France declared Ukraine has the right to defend itself, including using French SCALP missiles, against Russia.

“There’s no red line,” said a French spokesperson, reinforcing support for Ukraine’s strikes on targets like the reported North Korean-command post in Russia's Kursk region.

The spokesperson highlighted France’s military aid and training efforts for Ukraine, emphasizing international law supports Kyiv’s self-defense.

I do indeed believe it. Putin has publicly stated, both before and after the invasion, that he does not believe that Ukraine is a real country, that it is properly a part of Russia. He has been building up for an opportunity to reunite Ukraine to Russia for year. He has been able to maintain the war this long because he had built up a huge war chest to enable this and the subsequent sanctions against the Russian economy. This was not a last minute decision because of NATO agitation. It had been planned for years. He had thought that the invasion would be over in a matter of months, if not weeks. Unfortunately for him, it is now approaching three years. Not only is he running out of men and material, he is running out of money as that war chest is being depleted. Thus, despite what are at best marginal successes on the battlefield, it is difficult to see how he could maintain the war for another year. Amateurs study tactics; professionals study logistics. The logistics are starting to turn on Putin.

Except that the freed states of eastern Europe want our presence to protect themselves from Russia, we did not overthrow the Ukrainian government, did not install a puppet government, and Ukraine was not going to join NATO anytime soon, if ever. All of these claims are a Russian smokescreen to hide Putin’s real agenda, which is to bring Ukraine back under the Russian control where he believes it belongs. He has as much as said this is his goal himself.

Weren’t we the first to first to authorize the use of our missiles inside Russia?

You are missing the first step: when Russian tanks crossed the border.

“ Ukraine was not going to join NATO anytime soon, if evEr”

Except it was Kamala Harris herself who went over to Ukraine shortly before Russia invaded and strongly hinted that Ukraine would be permitted to join NATO. Russia had had tanks ready along the border for a long time. Their bottom line was that Ukraine would not join NATO. Harris gave her speech. Putin invaded.

I do -- we did by fomenting an illegal coup in Ukraine and installing a government hostile to both the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine and to Moscow.

Except none of this happened. And the Ukrainian army was never a threat to Russia. As everyone is quick to remind us, Russia and its army are many times the size of Ukraine and its army.

Of course, it happened.

Victoria Nuland went to Ukraine, handing out cookies, encouraging the Maiden revolution. John McCain and Lindsey Graham went to Ukraine and gave speeches in favor it.

Denying the US government was behind the coup is absurd.

Of course, the CIA is notorious for fomenting color revolutions.

Who do you think you're fooling by denying all that?

All we ever said about NATO membership for Ukraine was that Ukraine was free to ask for it, that Russia could not veto it. There was never a formal invitation and many of the Europeans objected (It takes only one country to veto the process). Indeed, because of Russia’s ongoing occupation of Crimea and Donbas, Ukraine was ineligible to join NATO. This has been pointed out many times but the pro-Russian propagandists always ignore it.

You are also ignoring the fact that Zelensky offered no NATO membership in return for Russian withdrawal early in the conflict. Putin rejected this offer because he was after Ukrainian land and the military imposition of a pro-Russian government. Again, the pro-Russian propagandists always pass over this. This was never over NATO membership. That was just Putin’s excuse to bring Ukraine back under Russian control, something that he has wanted to do for many years.

What a load of crap.

If China or Russia fomented/and or backed a revolution in Mexico, installed a government hostile to the US and trained, funded and armed a 600,000 man army, what do you think our response would be? WE'D INVADE, JUSTIFIABLY SO.

A NATO-backed army on Russia's border backing a government trying to cutoff Russia's access to its naval base in Crimea was certainly grave national security threat to the Russians.

Russia had operated a naval base in Crimea since BEFORE THE US CONSTITUTION WAS WRITTEN.

And, keep in mind Crimea was "given" to Ukraine by Soviet leaders in 1954 when both were part of the same country. They sure as hell wouldn't have done that if they could have foreseen the Soviet Union breaking up.

You're ridiculous.

“ There was never a formal invitation and many of the Europeans objected”

That is why I said Kamala Harris strongly hinted that Ukraine would be admitted to NATO. It was probably never going to happen and it was idiotic for her to have included that in her speech.

You’re missing the previous step that precipitated that.

The pathetic, cowardly, incompetent, disastrous retreat from Afghanistan. Seeing such a debacle, is what prompted Putin to go in.

Except that Ukraine never targeted ethnic Russian civilians. This is pure myth, nor does it even match the timeline. The fighting in Donbas, in which there were civilian casualties on both sides, started after Russia had seized the territory by the use of surrogate ethnic Russian militias. Actually the first step in the chain of events that lead to this war was Putin's blackmail of Yanukovych to renege on the EU agreement and bind Ukraine to Russia through membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. Everything flowed from that.

Yeah, right! Cookies and speeches motivated the mass of the Ukrainian people to take to the streets. You are living in a fantasy world. Besides, these actions took place after the protests started; they were not their cause.

And there is where your argument fails. We did not overthrow the Ukrainian government nor install one of our own. This, as much as you may wish to deny it, was the action of the Ukrainian people. Nor was the Ukrainian army a threat to Russia. Rather, it was built up to defend Ukraine from Russia which had already invaded Crimea and Donbas and fighting to prevent Ukraine from reestablishing control over its sovereign territory.

Russia had operated a naval base in Crimea since BEFORE THE US CONSTITUTION WAS WRITTEN.

It also controlled all of Ukraine, as well as the Baltic states. Historical ownership does not justify present day imperial conquest. Additionally, Russia still maintained its naval base in Crimea even under Ukrainian rule. All that being said, I have always said the Crimea was the one are that Russia could make a legitimate claim. As for the rest of the territory that they have either taken or claimed: no.

Agreed. It was Putin’s perception of American weakness, not his fear of NATO, that emboldened him to act.

Agreed. And Putin knew that it was not going to happen. That why all this talk about NATO expansion being the cause of Putin's actions is so ridiculous.

We did not overthrow the Ukrainian government nor install one of our own.

Yanukovych was absolutely removed from office ILLEGALLY and against the wishes of the people in Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea, all of which had a right to their independence and/or to join the Russian Federation.

The problem you and your neo-Nazi buddies got greedy. You couldn't let those regions go in peace and by happy with controlling the rest of the country. You had to treat the people in those regions like the Nazis treated Jews.

Well, they fought and you got your asses kicked.

It's over. The annexed area IS NEVER, EVER BEING GOING TO BE PART OF UKRAINE AGAIN. What about that don't you understand?

All continuing the war is going is resulting more lost Ukrainian lives and more lost territory.

But, you're such a sociopath, you don't seem to care how of your countryman are sent to their deaths fighting a war they can't win. That makes you a very sick human being.

It also controlled all of Ukraine, as well as the Baltic states.

Ukraine and the Baltic states were NOT PART OF RUSSIA BEFORE THE SOVIET UNION CAME INTO EXISTENCE. Crimea WAS.

And, people in Crimea were seeking independence from Ukraine since the fall of the Soviet Union.

But you couldn't careless how much you and your kind tried to trample on the rights of those in Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk.

You're absolutely no morally better than the communist bastards that ran the Soviet Union.

You're driven by ethnic HATRED, not a sense of fairness or morality.

Well that is problem for me because you and the globalist bastards that sided with you (out of their own greed) have us closer to WW III and nuclear war than we were during the Cold War. Everything they done in Ukraine has been insane and irresponsible.

My nephews aren't dying in a world war over Ukraine.

I think that you need a course in Russian history:
