Well, Friday evening just got a whole lot more exciting, with the latest announcement of a major role in President Donald Trump 47's administration. The president-elect wrote in a statement, picking Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR):

We were spared the worst on Election Day but my enthusiasm is dimming for all things government-related at this point.

“ANOTHER from the House?”

My first thought, too. How thin is the margin now?

He must think he can get more done with good people in critical cabinet positions than he can through the house. I hope he is right.

“Donald Trump Drops Major Cabinet Nom”

Who did he drop? Gaetz is already gone. Why would Trump drop somebody after picking them?

(just kidding...I HATE modern language perversions and repurposing of words. The headline writer could written “Trump reveals” or “Trump announces” or “Trump makes another cabinet pic,” etc, but no, it’s “Trump DROPS”. Grrrr)

Was her appointment supported by the president of the Teamsters’s Union?

I always deeply appreciate seeing someone else who is bothered by sloppy English. This tendency to accept all variants, regardless of spelling or grammar drives me batty. I’m remembering YEARS of homework memorizing rules of grammar and vocabulary and then read stuff today that makes my back shiver. Yes, I know, but even with my elderly brain I still know how to check the spelling of a word I’m about to use before I put it down. Even though I, too, let my own fair share of mistakes through. But when I do, I’m embarrassed.

Very narrow loss—but her win in 2022 had been very narrow also.

She did not win re-election. No loss.

Well, she was the incumbent, so the DEMs flipped that seat. It was a loss for the GOP.

Chavez-Deremer lost her re-election bid for the Oregon 5th District, so she isn’t subtracting from the Republican House majority.

Pathetic pick. Harris must be Joyful!

From the WSJ

“Hard to believe, but Donald Trump on Friday night nominated a favorite of teachers union chief Randi Weingarten as his Labor Secretary. Why would Mr. Trump want to empower labor bosses who oppose his economic agenda and spent masses to defeat him? “

She is that bad and more. If the GOPe wants to do MAGA a favor, block this one.
