Progressive Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked MSNBC host Joy Reid with her simple explanation of why some New Yorkers opted to vote for Donald Trump as president but also helped reelect her to Congress on the same ballots. The Republican president-elect improved his share of support in New York City including in AOC's district in 2024, leaving some scratching their heads over how someone could vote for him and a progressive member of 'The Squad.'
After the election, the Democratic congresswoman put out on social media that she wanted to hear from such voters about their thinking. The responses came flooding in. She shared her takeaways in an interview with the liberal news network.
'When it comes to people who split their ticket, I think a lot of people cited several different things,' Ocasio-Cortez told Reid.

She’s not going MAGA but I have her say things that go against orthodox Leftism.

Any time a Democrats shuts up with the talking points and actually listens to what people are saying they are taking a step in the right direction.
There was a hilarious interview of a D Congressman from the Bronx in the Atlantic magazine where the lefty reporter kept talking about “messaging” that might work and the Congressman kept saying “stop talking about messaging and focus on what is really happening out there”.
I think if the truth were known, most “Republican Harriz/Walzy endorsers” flipped and voted for Trump when they got into the privacy of the voting booth. The Harriz/Walzies depended on GOOBer “endorsements” entirely too much and they failed to follow through for the former “next president” of the United States.
Back in the 1960s and early ‘70s I split my ticket pretty often. Our congressman Jim Howard was a Democrat but not one of the few (at that time) crazies into which the party has morphed recently. And what better checks and balances than having to compromise to “get things done”.
That was before “getting things done” became more harmful than beneficial. Now when you mention compromise, I reply that compromising with bad policy is like adding sewage to your drinking water.

Sounds like she swiped Harris’s gig repeat Trump to reel in the sucker that didn’t know any better.
This reeks of FAKE.
Joy says but she ran with Liz Cheney? It would be interesting if a poll was taken on how many people voted for Kamala because of Liz. I bet Dick was the only one.
