And if that means ABOLISHING every one of the three letter agencies, from the FBI to the ATF, I’m ready to get going!

Matt Gaetz immediately resigning his seat seems like questionable judgement unless I am mnissing something.
He is not approved by the senate and it leaves the GOP down 1 vote until at least special election and =idk this seems rash enough that it will hurt him getting approved and leave him with nothing.

They’re going to do recess appointments.
Mike Johnson explained Gaetz’ resignation allows DeSantis to start process of special election and they’ve already talked with DeSantis. iirc, a Gov has 90 days to begin special election process after resignation. Concern that NY Gov Hochul (?sp) will wait till 90th day to do so when Elise Stefanek resigns. Johnson explained timing issues.

Well, considering that the FBI is one of the agencies under the DoJ he’s like to run, and that most Senators won’t support eliminating the DoJ, this likely won’t help whatever slim chance he may have of being confirmed.
I don't think he's going to use a recess to save nominees who would lose an up or down vote.
Hannity was talking about Lara Trump getting Gaetz’s seat in Florida.
They were talking about Rubios Senate seat for Lara.
