The remaining terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip had gathered in Jabalya, prompting the military to encircle the area.
The IDF's military operation in Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip came as a surprise to the terrorists in the area, the military said on Monday.
“The surprise for Hamas was complete. We trapped hundreds of terrorists inside the camp, including senior operatives," the IDF said, adding that the terror group had used the population as human shields for over a week and had shot at the legs of residents who attempted to escape.
According to the IDF, the remaining terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip had gathered in Jabalya, prompting the military to encircle the area, evacuate the civilian population, isolate the terrorists, and prevent them from escaping.
Within hours, in a single night, the army surrounded the area.
Three brigades surrounded the camp: the 460th, Givati, and the 401st. The 460th Brigade, which reached schools and shelters, reported that this approach allowed them to evacuate five thousand residents. By the following day, twenty thousand more had left, and forces said that the residents' "fear barrier was broken."

No more terrorists huh? Not buying it. More will pop up.
That leaves open the question of “Where are the Hostages?”. I tend to believe they are all dead.
Israel has delivered severe blows to Iran and their fighting surrogates Hamas and Hezbollah. The presentthreat to Israel has been greatly lessened and it is reasonable to expect a period of relative tranquility. However until the mullah regime in Iran is overthrown, Iran with its oil money will rearm and reinvigorate willing surrogates to fight. the drones and the missiles are beoming more sophisticated, more stealthy and more lethal as arms makers advance the technology. Israel needs a constant technological edge and superb, creative intellligence. ultimately they will have to in some way usher the end of the mullah regime in Iran for strategic reasons.
good move, IDF
but
they needed to be eliminated not captured (and eventually set free to murder innocent people again)
also, nobody on earth could be so naive as to believe those were the very last 60 Fakestinian terrorists
keep your guard up~!
Inevitably. Islam is fundamentally a terrorist organization.
If I ever questioned my advancing age, I stopped after reading this and thinking, why do they have jumbalaya in Gaza...
Any anti-jihadi news is good news.
Too bad they let them surrender. Now their fellows will take hostages to get them released.
The captured terrorists should be released immediately...in the middle of the Mediterranean...from 25,000 ft.
Are these the guys that surrendered in the Barney and Sponge Bob huggies?
It took a couple of years but the Russians were able to pacify Chechnya. The IDF can do the same in Gaza assuming that Bibi stays in power.
HAMMED: Don't get poysonal!
They were holding their own people hostage, not letting the residents leave by either shooting at them or beating them with sticks to keep them inside as human shields or involuntary martyrs if they got killed in crossfire. Israel didn’t fall for the old banana in the tailpipe trick - at their own risk they had to go in and open a corridor for civilians to flee, and then close it to trap the Hamas inside the camp.
I’m sure there are more than 60 but as their numbers dwindle and they lose backup and support and supply lines they become ineffectual. May as well call it quits.
From the article, if anyone else reads it.
“Approximately 60 terrorists surrendered in total, while hundreds of others were eliminated in the refugee camp”.
Now the challenge is ‘friends’ that are fostering internal turmoil and empowering Israel’s enemies through inaction/a bad word/leaking intelligence/funding internal protests against the government/paying their enemies to maintain action against Israel.
Wonder if that will change in a couple months? Wonder how terrible it will become until then.
Gaza is almost free because Hamas-Hezbollah have almost nothing left to lose.
” More will pop up.”
Wise. They’ve controlled the government in Gaza since 2008. They just don’t disappear, they evolve.

Unfortunately, I think you may be right.
