Last time Donald Trump sat in the White House, he pulled the US out of a host of UN agencies and international agreements – including the Paris agreement and the Iran nuclear deal – even threatening to withdraw from NATO. But back then there were still career civil servants on his staff who acted as the “adults in the room” and a war was not being waged on European soil. Ahead of his possible return, Europe is rushing to "Trump-proof" itself.
Trump has vowed to pursue certain aims if he once again becomes president of the United States, and his proposals, however outlandish, are generating concern abroad. He has vowed to end the war in Ukraine “in 24 hours” by negotiating with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, ask Europe to foot the bill for billions of dollars in US aid to Ukraine, pull out of the Paris climate deal (again), and impose steep tariffs on foreign imports – up to 200 percent in some cases.
Moreover, the former president has vowed to continue his isolationist, “America first” approach to foreign policy, even planning a more extreme version that he was not able to implement during his first term. Some are even more wary of a “Trump 2.0” scenario.
But despite Europe’s Trump-proofing measure, Wingberg said a Trump win would, overall, be “very bad” for the liberal and democratic supporters of the Old Continent.

KMA you stupid French surrender monkeys.
I spoke with someone who traveled to Europe a few weeks ago and he said EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO THEY HAD INTERACTIONS WITH PLEADED FOR DONALD J TRUMP TO BE ELECTED BY AMERICA.
Hopefully.
Tommy Robinson’s rally in UK had Trump on their Jumbotron and asked Americans to vote for the man Trump to save the west.
We can do that. 👍👍😁
I believe it. I think there is a lot of buyer’s remorse concerning the EU. A return to nationalism in Europe might be a better solution than being under the boots of unelected bureaucrats who are unresponsive to individual nation’s needs.
I hope Trump kills the globalist agenda, and utterly destroys the derpstate.
the old guard of Europe, with their pointyhead ideas, are fading away.
In other words, loot the US treasury. Meanwhile, veterans, the people in East Palestine and Western North Carolina can suck it.
Screw Europe!!!
I’m sick and tired of bailing Europe’s ass out for STUPID LIBERAL WOKE POLICIES.
For once, just once FIX your own damn problems.
> Hopefully. <
Ha, yes. It’s not 1945 anymore. Europe no longer needs American troops or American money. Withdraw them both.
Europe now has power, and wealth. We need not babysit them anymore.
America is a friend of freedom everywhere, but a custodian only of our own.

“...career civil servants...”. That pretty much says all you need to know. Hopefully he’ll pull us out of the ever evil u.n. entirely thus time around and have them vacate nyc.
On the article’s comment that Trump could trigger a trade war with China...NEWS UPDATE! China has been in a trade war with the US, and the world, for decades. It’s about time we woke up and fought back.
Europe (including the UK) have a “soft” fascism type of government where they (the government) knows best and they control every aspect of their citizen’s life, from cradle to grave.
Socialism does not work because there is never enough money to pay for all that is promised This is where the the United States taxpayers come in. The American worker workers longer hours, fewer vacations and days off, poor health care, all so our government can send money to Europe (and other nations).
Without the American consumers and tax money going to Europe to support them, Europe would have gone the way of the old Soviet Union, collapsed under the weight of socialism.
This is what they are afraid of. Trump’s America first policy which would require them to pay for their own defense and to pay for all the social programs they created.
“...given that war has since returned to the continent with the 2022 FULL-SCALE Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
Damn, looked like a good article, but then the Leftists that wrote the story had to apply their dog-whistle - “FULL SCALE Russian invasion”, so I always stop at that point.
I read somewhere that the EU even has regulations governing what kind of teapots you can and cannot buy. How’s that for micromanaging?
Perhaps that’s one reason Britain voted to leave.
If there’s another war Europe should be on it’s own
