Washington Post refuses to endorse Kamala Harris - sparking furious boycott from readers and staff
Daily Mail ^

The Washington Post has announced it will not endorse a presidential candidate, sparking fury among its liberal readers who are pledging to cancel their subscriptions to the paper.

The announcement marks the first time in 36 years that the left-leaning paper has decided to not make a presidential endorsement.

The paper's page editor David Shipley had already approved an endorsement of Harris and had reportedly told colleagues that it was being reviewed by the paper's owner Jeff Bezos, according to NPR.

But on Friday CEO Will Lewis published an op-ed that the paper is returning to its 'roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.'

It comes just days after The Los Angeles Times announced it would also not be endorsing anyone for the November presidential elections.

LOL!

I posted this article because I noticed all my loser lib "friends" on Facebook are cancelling their WaPo subs en masse and posting about it.

The Compost sucks but if it wants to stay neutral, what's the issue? I could not care less if a newspaper declined to endorse a candidate, even if it were Trump. Liberals apparently like their media biased.

Treating your workplace like its your ideological playground is a bad thing. It has spread from media outlets to everyday compainies and it needs to stop.

Good thing the people at the Post aren’t biased. This simply proves what conservatives have been saying forever. The paper was and is a Democratic rag.

The paper will cave and the next editorial will be Trump is a Nazi.

It seems that leftists have no tolerance or self-control. They have to run everything or they freak out.

I'll bet there is much, much more to this story.

While current radical left readers will complain, many new readers (who just want the news without a liberal bias) will be added.

And the complaining staff? I wonder if the new publisher and CEO (William Lewis, started January 2, 2024) and new editor (Robert Winnett, starting right after the presidential election) are hoping many of those will hit the door without demanding or requiring severance pay.

Many leftists like Ted Lieu are blaming Trump! Saying Bezos is bowing to the fascist. Aside from the TDS, it seems they are saying Trump is going to win, else, why bow to the loser?

Charlie Kirk said on one of his podcasts yesterday that his crew believes it was “Blue Origin” (Bezos/WaPo) that was behind this and it has nothing to do with what happened at LA Times. Makes some sense, Bezos feels that with Musk on Trump’s side his company (federal contracts also) will get investigated and the like. (Solution? Don’t give a damned dime to any of these companies)

It’s not staying neutral, the articlese out of the wapo and the la slimes are still brutally attacking Trump.

They just didn’t endorse.

If that’s kissing up to Trump, they’re too little, too late.

Old media needs Trump to win to survive. Without Trump they have nothing to report. They need him to create interesting news.Boring Biden taught them that Old Media grabbed the Biden Anchor and are gasping for air.

can’t post this enough...Remember Friends, “conservatives seek agreement while liberals demand compliance” L.Star. the mindset of all liberals is one of control. they actually believe that they know best, are smarter than you and if you won’t willingly GIVE them control they will take it claiming it’s for your own good. noncompliance is not an option for these control freaks but good news is on the horizon. when they lie, cheat and outright steal this election republicans will fight,fight,fi...no they won’t. we will just roll over, grease up and take it up the (°) again. as usual.

I think behind all of this chatter....there’s the element of bank failures (now highly anticipated in the next hundred days), and insider-people know that neither Biden or Harris are prepared for the problem.

As for readership? Lets just be honest...both the NY Times and WaPo have lost a massive amount of readership over the past three decades. Both run more as ‘charity-operations’ than actual print-news-media.

Leftists are basically Maoists at this point. It's not enough to simply say nothing and go about your daily lives. You must give full throated recitation from the Little Red Book.

Or else...

“While current radical left readers will complain, many new readers (who just want the news without a liberal bias) will be added.”

Those would not be very smart people. The WaPo and almost all “mainstream” media is and always will be biased, lying propaganda tools of the left.

Print media loses more money than the odious gorilla street WNBA. It’s worse than the Oak Island money pit.

If not for Amazon profits, Bezos would have gotten rid of the Compost along with the smelly and hairy Jennifer Rubin. All these “employees” should be grateful they even have a job. /spit

hairy Jennifer Rubin.

When is that bag of crap going to resign? She was demanding that the rest of the LA Times resign over the owner's refusal to endorse Harris.

Shoe's on the other foot, Jen. Resign. Don't be a hypocrite.

The WaPo, like CNN, is trying to move to the center in hopes of returning to some degree of profitability.

That seems quite smart to me.
