MADISON, Wis. -- The first day of in-person absentee voting in Wisconsin saw a higher than expected turnout, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
It said Tuesday that it led to a temporary slowdown in its WisVote system, which some clerks rely on to manage voting logistics. According to the WEC, the system is essential for printing labels that are affixed to the outside of in-person absentee certificate envelopes.
Clerks can still manually write the necessary information on the envelopes if needed. However, the delay was quickly addressed by the WEC staff, who worked to enhance the system's capacity to meet the increased demand.
Officials emphasized the slowdown was solely due to the overwhelming number of voters participating in in-person absentee voting and should not hinder any voter's ability to cast their ballots Tuesday. The WEC said it is committed to ensuring that all clerks can facilitate the voting process efficiently, even in the face of high turnout.
As the election season progresses, election officials encourage voters to remain informed and prepared, ensuring a smooth voting experience for all.
Why do people have such a difficult time grasping this concept?
Because most of us here aren’t Nattering Neighbobs of Negativity?
It’s very early, but signs are positive for Republicans. Looks like many states or cities have had record early turnout, and that should bode well for Trump. Team Trump have been pushing early voting for some time now. They’re also encouraging ballot harvesting in any place it’s legal. I’m not wearing rose-colored glasses, but I do believe Trump’s message has been resonating, while Kamala’s unfocused “opportunity economy” talk is falling flat.

Just like 2020
Well spoken, Diana.
He is probably one of those “principled conservatives” who regularly sit on their ass on election day “to send a message”!
Odd terminology.
“In-person Absentee”
They cheat best amid chaos. Expect it.
What is “in-person absentee voting”? Strikes me as an oxymoron?
Terminology used in Wisconsin. You’ll be ‘absent’ on November 5th, (so you are an ‘absentee’ voter on that day) but you can vote ‘in-person’ ahead of that versus mailing in an absentee ballot.
I see, “early voting” then. Wisconsin, dontcha know.
Beat the STEAL indeed
Democrats ummm clerks can still manually write the necessary information on the envelopes.
It’s Wisconsin
D in W I hope you are right and I am wrong.
