The Kremlin confirmed that former President Trump while in office sent Russian President Vladimir Putin COVID-19 testing devices during the height of the pandemic, as was revealed in a new book by journalist Bob Woodward, Bloomberg reported.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday that the tests had been sent but he also denied the book’s claims that the two leaders had spoken by phone several times since Trump left office, Bloomberg reported.
“We also sent equipment at the beginning of the pandemic,” Peskov said in a written response to the news site when asked about the book. “But about the phone calls — it’s not true.”
Woodward’s book, “War,” detailed how Trump in 2020 sent Abbott COVID-19 testing devices to Putin and kept the delivery quiet at the Russian leader’s request, according to CNN.
Steven Cheung, the communications director for Trump’s presidential election campaign, denied the book’s claims, calling them “made up stories” and “not true.”

I think heads of state have a history of gifting other heads of state for a long time. Not to excuse this behavior, but Presidents have been given privileges that regular people don’t receive. I remember a time when Joe Biden was one of the first American citizens to receive a COVID vaccine at a time when COVID vaccines were limited. In fact COVID vaccines weren’t available to everybody at the same time. The FDA limited COVID vaccines to immunocompromised people, people over 60 years old way before COVID vaccines were available to those under 18 years old.

The guy is leader of a major country and Trump arranged to have a few covid tests sent to him for his own use. not to supply the country en masse with tests. We were not having the hostilities at that time with Russia that were later brought on by Biden waving the red flag in Putin’s face about the potential of Ukraine being offered NATO membership. I don’t think there is any leader in the world that would deny him the tests for his use.

The Feds have had their noses up Donald Trump’s ass since he threw his hat into the political ring in 2015. They’ve know all of this, and have been even more anal at tracking him since he got elected in 2016. Woodward gets his info from leakers in the alphabet agencies, and just repeats what he’s told.
And what did Obama and Biden think those terrorists were going to do with that money? Help the poor in Iran?
My personal opinion of that money being given to the mullahs of Iran, was that it wasn't legally their money to begin with. That $20 billion was paid by the government of the Shah of Iran for military equipment. The Shah and his government were overthrown by the radical muslims before the military equipment could be delivered. None of them were part of the Iran government at the time of the overthrow, the storming of the American Embassy, and the taking of American hostages. They had no right to any of that money. It should have been given to the victims of the terrorist groups that Iran has been financing since they took power.
