Newt's World Podcast Episode 759: Who Is The Real Tim Walz?
Apple Podcasts ^ | October 6, 2024 | Newt Gingrich & Paul Gazelka

Posted on 10/07/2024 10:49:42 AM PDT by ProtectOurFreedom

Newt talks with Paul Gazelka, former Minnesota Senate Majority Leader, about his new book "Behind the Veil: A Stand Against Governor Tim Walz." Their discussion focuses on Tim Walz's political career, his performance during the vice-presidential debate, and his leadership abilities.

Gazelka criticizes Governor Walz's handling of crises such as the George Floyd riots and the COVID-19 pandemic, describing him as indecisive and untrustworthy. They also touch on Walz's controversial policies, including tax increases, his extreme left agenda, and mismanagement of Minnesota state funds. Gazelka expresses concern over Walz's potential influence at the national level in a Harris administration.

I listened to this interview by Newt of Paul Gazelka. Gazelka worked closely with with Walz in the Minnesota Senate and said Walz is the most untrustworthy governor in the country, very incompetent, very crooked, ultra-liberal, and very anti-American. Gazelka is very worried about the nincompoop Walz ascending to the presidency and having his finger on the button. He documents Walz's horrible response to the BLM burning of Minneapolis and how Minneapolis / St. Paul went from the nicest cities in the midwest to third-world cesspools under Walz's governorship.

The interview is excellent and I highly recommend it. Every American should listen to it.

That might be the first podcast I’ve listened to. Do they all begin with many minutes of multiple commercials?

I’d much rather read the transcript of an interview than listen to it.

I’ve learned to punch the fast-forward button repeatedly when I start most podcasts. I generally skip ahead five minutes to get past the crud. I figure if I miss a minute of two of the start of the content, that’s a small price for not hearing horrible commercials. On an iPhone you can easily get past the intro commercials by saying “Hey Siri, skip forward 30 seconds” or “Hey Siri, skip ahead 10 minutes.” I don’t know if you can substitute any number for 30 and 10.

As podcasters get more popular, you find that they attract more advertisers. Both Newt and Victor Davis Hanson have ads at the beginning and several during the podcast. You can’t begrudge popular people for monetizing their podcasts.

I generally listen to podcasts when I’m driving or out hiking or walking and can get to my phone quickly to skip the ads.

Like you, I typically like a well thought-out article more than a podcast, but podcasts are a great thing when driving, hiking or walking.

I rarely recommend them on FR, but this one is really good for insights into Walz from the leader of the MN Senate who knew Walz very well and wrote the definitive book about him. It’s a damning indictment of Walz.

If you have the time, you’ll find this one worthwhile.

“I generally listen to podcasts when I’m driving or out hiking “

Hadn’t thought of that value of podcasts, or more generally of listening rather than reading.

I agree about an internet site wanting to make some money. It wouldn’t bother me if FreeRepublic ran a few ads.

As I aged, it became more difficult for me to read books. Turns out I have a “macular pucker” which is essentially a wrinkle on the retina. Images don’t line up so well any more which really makes it hard to read. So I’m thankful for podcasts and audio books.
