An elementary school principal is on administrative leave, and the Bellevue School District is now investigating after parents complained about comments she made after a swastika was found...
In an email addressed to "The Phantom Lake Elementary Community" Monday, the principal described a swastika as a symbol of hate and as a symbol of peace. She apologized for not acknowledging sooner that a swastika in some cultures is a symbol of 'peace and prosperity,' including she said in ‘Buddhism and Hinduism.’

Kipling took as a sort of mascot the Hindu god Ganesha, one of whose symbols is the swastika.
And, you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
You should see the downtown building we stayed at in Farmington NM back in 1956. Last time I visited, 2015, the building was still there. It was built back in 1919 or so.

The room shown is the one we stayed at when it was a hotel in 1956.
Years ago ARIZONA HIGHWAYS showed a photo of Antelope House. They got lots of letters protesting the swastika, painted on the canyon wall. The magazine then showed how the emblem was far older than graffiti and a short history of it in the Southwest.

I have a stamped envelope from the U.S. Canal Zone issued in the 1920s. Its entire border is a series of swastikas. Here’s what it looks like...zoom in
I have seen it used in the South West rotating in both directions.
At the Apache village/museum called Tuzigoot in Arizona,I saw bowls decorated with swastikas. It is the broken arrow sign of peace. Also I have seen old Buddha incense burners decorated with swastikas too. This teacher was absolutely correct. Why is she being punished!?
…a bigly number of people would IMMEDIATELY peg her as an Enemy because of her keffiyeh.
And yet, a keffiyeh was used for a LONG time as a simple piece of apparel to shield the wearer from the sun (though it also carried elements of class).
Now, if leftists decried the Enemy label and started lecturing on the history of Middle East apparel, would anyone here listen? Prolly not…the keffiyeh and swastika are identified with Really Bad Things.
Parenthetically, per Wiki, Palestinian keffiyehs are now largely imported from China! With the scarf's growing popularity in the 2000s, Chinese manufacturers entered the market, driving Palestinians out of the business. For five decades, Yasser Hirbawi had been the only Palestinian manufacturer of keffiyehs, making them across 16 looms at the Hirbawi Textile Factory in Hebron. In 1990, all 16 of the looms were functioning, making around 750 keffiyehs per day. By 2010, only two looms were used, making a 300 keffiyehs per week. Unlike the Chinese-manufactured ones, Hirbawi uses cotton only. Hirbawi's son Izzat stated the importance of creating the Palestinian symbol in Palestine: "the keffiyeh is a tradition of Palestine and it should be made in Palestine. We should be the ones making it." After the 2023 Gaza war demand has doubled – it could not be met because Hirbawi has a monthly production of 5,000.
They missed the swastika on the BF-109!!!!
They take the swastika off the cover art for the kit can be sold in Germany. Some companies do not include swastika decals, at least not in one piece. Fortunately aftermarket companies have complete decals.
She did not say anything that was not true. She should have also mentioned it is also appears in Native American designs.
Her wording may have been awkward but to assume it was with ill intent is unfair and far too typical.
Yes. I read that after I made my comment.
Thanks.
The Teacher was probably correct, but not politically correct.
Hitler soiled and inverted a lot of good things, just like Satan does.
I have t-shirts with Luftwaffe aircraft, and that artwork is accurate.
