The other famous crime in South Carolina. The fact that Smith blamed the crime on a black man will go heavy on her in today's culture. I think her chances for parole are zero to none.

She claims she was not in her right mind and that she is now so she should be let free. But she has a history of drug and sex infractions behind bars. Not a model prisoner.

I watched the Sex Behind Bars documentary. Clearly she had too much time on her hands and was lonely. Both guards were easily seduced. I don’t really blame her for those infractions.
To: Opinionated Blowhard
Sounds like a low grade psychopath. I’m sure the democrat party would welcome her home.
To: DeplorablePaul
Even if she were paroled, how would she live? Would anyone hire her? Would anyone really want to be her friend or involved with her?
I don’t see how one ever lives down what she did.

I’d be fine if her life consisted of strapping her into a minivan and rolling it in to the lake.

No "do-overs" for murderers.
She is hardly different from abortion fiends, just that her timing was a little off.
To: DeplorablePaul
As I remember she tried to blame it on the local black community. They should have turned her over to a group of 100 really angry black women. A reverse color lynching.

Maybe she could get a job providing home care for an old man.

She just wants to grow old in a middle class neighborhood

I am not the monster society thinks I am,” she wrote in a letter from jail to reporters at The State in 2015. Right. You were probably the person your kids looked up to and trusted the most. You were likely the one your kids had the most emotional connection to. In the ultimate betrayal, as the one most charged with protecting them and loving them - you violated that trust and stood there and watched as they drowned. Their last moments were likely filled in pure terror as they were trapped in their carseats and left to die.
Rather than turning yourself in and stating you had a problem, you needed help - you trotted out a racist trope that a black man stole your kids. All these years later you still haven’t accepted responsibility.
You are worse than the monster you perceive society believes you to be. Be grateful for prison and not mob justice.

Of course she’s been well-behaved. There aren’t any kids behind bars for her to kill.
