Several top staffers and fundraisers for Mark Robinson's gubernatorial campaign have quit, current and former campaign members said Sunday.
The North Carolina Republican Party nominee for governor is facing increased pressure and skepticism from members of his party after a recent report by CNN alleging that he made lewd, racist and pro-Hitler comments on a pornographic website's messaging board. ... Pressure had been mounting on Robinson in recent weeks, when some Republicans saw his poor polling numbers as a potential drag on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's chances of winning North Carolina’s crucial 16 electoral votes. A WRAL News Poll in early September found the presidential race statistically tied, but Robinson trailing Democratic opponent Josh Stein by double digits.
During a visit to Wilmington on Saturday, Trump — who until recently frequently praised Robinson from the stage at rallies in the state — didn’t even mention the candidate he had endorsed and frequently compared to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Robinson worried them. They never expected him to be elected Lt. Governor and polls showed he would probably be elected governor of NC. They had no choice but to take him out and allegations of any type of sex offense has always been a sure-fire way of taking out a GOP candidate.
The GOP dropped Robinson like a hot potato even though there is no reliable evidence the social media account actually belonged to him. They always do which is why the left uses that tactic. The Democrats have never and would never do such a thing.
So, which GOP candidate is next on the media and uni-party’s chopping block?
The porn account from which the info was gathered was from 2008-2012. Well within the internet era.
If Robinson uses the handle ‘BlackNazi’ on any website he should resign his campaign.

Re: 16 - I believe there’s something to President Trump not even mentioning Robinson. Possibly that the Trump campaign has done its own checking and concluded there is something to what is being reported.

The usual leftist polls showed he was behind in the race. But subtract the 6pt margin of Democrat-weighted polls, and then add in his support by both black voters and Second Amendment supporters in NC, and I believe he would have won.
He still might do so if he hangs in there. If some tech-savvy data specialist can prove the account fake and unconnected to Robinson, he will definitely win.
Robinson was against all abortions early in the campaign and through the primaries, then, about a month ago, someone found out that he and his wife had an abortion a long time ago. The Robinsons then made a commercial where they discussed the abortion and he reversed his position on outlawing abortion in NC. He promised to never repeal the current abortion laws in NC.
The mid-air 180 is what brought his support down. The CNN hit piece was the last straw.
Also, people I grew up with in Greensboro are not willing to defend him on anything anymore.

Mark Robinson has been Lt Governor for 4 yrs now. How come none of this came out before? IMO, as Nancy Pelosi once said....it sounds like the democrats pulled a “wrap up smear” on Robinson. What they are doing to Robinson at this late stage of the game is despicable. This is the typical Democrat M.O. You would think people who have paid attention to politics would know that by now. Btw, went out the other day and we saw plenty of yard signs for Robinson & Trump. Not one sign for Harris.

No. I saw no poll where Robinson was any higher than 10 down.
Yes ballots have been printed, and ballot REQUESTS have gone out. I don’t know when the deadline is to have them delivered.
