Former Mossad chief: We should've released all terrorists in exchange for hostages/barf

Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo has claimed that Israel should have agreed to release all terrorists held in Israeli prisons in exchange for all the hostages kidnapped on October 7, Kikar Hashabbat reported.

The vast majority of the hostages are civilians, including children; most of the terrorists have blood on their hands.

In a recent podcast interview, Pardo said that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar offered at the start of the war, before Israel began a ground offensive into Gaza, that Israel release all terrorists in exchange for all hostages.

"Israel chose revenge," Pardo said. "And Israel knew that it could not free all of the hostages in military campaigns, and only a very few. And Israel knew that every strike by the IAF, when you don't know where they are, could kill hostages as well."

"And Israel knew that it would kill terrorists in one place and if a relative was watching hostages that day then that would likely be the end of the hostages."

Slamming the government, he added: "The Israeli government knew all of this and it did not bother them, instead they began a campaign to convince all Israeli citizens of nonsense such as 'complete victory' for standing strong, when all it needed to do was on the first day, on October 8, carry out this processes of releasing all the hostages, and after that they could have done whatever was necessary."

On October 8, Israel was still fighting to clear its towns along the Gaza border from terrorists, and to retake, among other things, the Sderot police station.

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was released from prison in October 2011, one of 1,027 convicted terrorists freed in exchange for kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. ....

If they could have sent them all home with shiny, new pagers, that plan might have worked...

What on earth makes him think hamas would have honored the deal????

Those hostages would have probably been killed anyways.

That would have been a bad deal, resulting in more dead Jews.

No, each muslim terrorist in custody should be handed a pager and required to watch the movie “The Next Voice You Hear”. Better than waterboarding.

When you release them give them a free cell phone or pager.

How did that work out for you, Mr. Pardo?

People seem to have gone stupid.

First they put Joe Biden in the White House and destroy an almost complete peace initiative in the Middle East. Then they incite the Muslim Americans to demonstrate anti-semetism over conflict that has nothing to do with them as Americans. Further, they allow taxpayer money to fund the groups that committed all of this, and continue to sponsor universities with that ‘recycled’ money.

Hamas invaded Israel to rape, murder, and kill, even children were targeted. They took some hostages, most were Israeli but not all, and all of them were tortured. They were never going to release all the hostages. They probably gave up control to splinter groups so early that they couldn’t. Nope, you have to be stupid to believe you could ‘negotiate’ your way out of this.

The best response was swift retaliation. So severe that the world would gasp, and the Iranians ability to recruit would diminish. Pagers, cell phones, wallkie talkie bombs, are all now acceptable after the UN had its workers participate in war crimes on Oct 7th. There are no longer rules of war, they have been torn down by the actions of the UN (UNRWA) and HAMAS as well as Hezbolla. Let the victor of this conflict relay the story and prosecute the guilty, as has been the way with war forever.

Inevitably, Israel will need to defeat Iran to win. Buckle up everyone, it should get interesting from here. Everyone could have picked peace.

If Pardo and those like him assume power again, it’s all over for Israel, absent divine intervention.

Tamir Farto fits that bill and then some.

Pardo is just another seditionist from the Kaplan Force/Brigades and the INSS groups (American financed) who can’t accept they can no longer win elections in Israel.

If that deal was ever offered they SHOULD have taken it and in the process implanted secret tracking chips in each and every one of the terrorists, and then immediately after getting our hostages, each and every terrorist released should have been targetted with a drone strike!

“Much as I dislike Netanyahu and wish for his eventual deposition, I think he’s right here. If you follow the logic of those who blame Netanyahu for failure of Hamas to release the hostages, the only way to get them released is for Israel to let Hamas win (guaranteeing more episodes like October 7) as well as to release thousands of jailed Palestinian terrorists (guaranteeing more people to engage in episodes like October 7). It is beyond me how people imagine that a ceasefire that gets the hostages home can, in the long run, have net beneficial effects. It’s almost as they can’t see what this kind of deal would eventually entail.

“I am not saying that Israel should abandon the hostages. Yes, of course their families are desperate and afraid; one needs only to hear them talk (and weep) to realize that. But a short-term solution that continues the death and terrorism is no way to act: it is an emotionally-driven movement that in the end will surely result in even more grief. Remember that paying exorbitant ransoms for hostages, or losing a war so you can get hostages back, are actions that will only prompt Hamas to take more hostages in the future.”

Makes sense...as soon as you count the last Israeli and all the mooj terrorist are back in Gaza, use a neutron bomb on Gaza City. Justice served.

Pagers. Just pagers. Charges strong enough to unman them.

I suspect HAMAS only had control over about a third of the hostages on October 8th.

Even now I suspect HAMAS only has control over about half.

HAMAS could provide Israeli negotiators with SD cards with videos of each hostage it has access to talking about recent events such as the Trump golf course incident.

My own idea, exactly. Or, chips that will tell their location. A large bomb is much more effective.
