What Trump has promised to do on ‘day one’ as president
The Washington Post ^ | September 21, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. EDT | Derek Hawkins , Clara Ence Morse and Eric Lau

Trump has made 41 distinct promises for his first day in office, including mass deportations and banning transgender women from sports.

Donald Trump has a long list of executive actions he says he wants to carry out on his potential first day back in the White House. Among them: Begin mass deportations, eliminate perks for electric vehicles and ban transgender women from women’s sports.

Since launching his bid for a second term, Trump has made 41 distinct promises about what he says he wants to do “on day one” as president, and he has mentioned those promises more than 200 times on the campaign trail, according to a Washington Post analysis of his speeches.

While presidential candidates often trumpet their plans for their first day in the White House, Trump has leaned especially hard on this rhetorical device when he’s behind the teleprompters. His proposals often envision stretching the powers of the Oval Office beyond how previous presidents — including Trump himself — have invoked them.

More than 200 ‘day one’ promises

Many of Trump’s promises fall outside the scope of a president’s authority under the Constitution, according to legal experts. Even some of those that are within his purview would face legal or logistical challenges that would make them all but impossible to carry out on a short timeline.

Poor Washington Post reporters. Donald Trump lives in their heads 24/7. Every hour of the day, every day of the week. When they wake up a night to use the bathroom, Washington Post reporters can only think about Donald Trump. Every single second of the day.

And come November, there is going to be a complete psychological mental breakdown in the Washington Post newsrooms. I also predict that is when the WaPo will RIF half its workforce. What better time to do the RIF than when everyone is already spazzed out?

Every action he takes will face logistical and legal actions by the Dems. They've been sharpening their long knives and lawfare for years now.

They certainly did this during Trump’s first term. I don’t recall Republicans doing it Biden at all

Trump will not be allowed to use the military to build the wall on the border.

How is repealing Biden's unconstitutional mandates, outside the scope of a president's authority?

Let’s see a large stack of EOs on the Resolute desk, not the little kid desk on a TV studio set like Brandon uses, and let’r’rip on Trump’s Day 1!

As if Joe and The One did anything by the Constitution? Show me the continuing funding resolution in the Constitution! It’s call a Budget! Show me where a President can just let non Americans just walk into our country, get our money, get our healthcare! The media sure is very blind to their sides illegalities!

Why are you still here?

You have been such a Trump hater for years, just go back to DU if it is still there.

I hate to post any response to your posts, but sometimes I cannot help my response against total retards.

I know, "retard" is a word that is frowned on, but in your case, MinorityRepublican = Retard.

STFU

Show me where a president gets the authority to single-handedly cancel a half trillion of student debt that those deadbeats owe to the federal government.

On day one, the money spigot that the Compost gets from the puppet Biden regime to print their propaganda, will come to an end.

Many of those “reporters” will be out on the street, starving. Trump will give a wink and a nod to the militias to take out the trash in the District of Caligula. The ONLY group in DC that will thrive, will be the cannibals feasting on the corpses of the Washington Post employees. /spit

Day one:

Fire all the lawyers.

Reverse/nullify all Biden’s executive orders.

Lunch

Do all the rest as mentioned above by the Washington Post.

Supper

Light the lanterns because it’s going to be a long night.

In 2017, Trump’s advisors were deep-state hacks like Bolton, Pompeo, Sessions, Chao etc. etc. He ran for cover when the FBI set-up and framed Gen. Flynn. Covid came and he buckled before the technocrat agencies and apparatchiks - fraudsters like Fauci, Birx, Wellensky

For all his big talk and bluster Trump was a babe in the DC woods, and his allies were scattered in the face of unrelenting DOJ attacks and MSM propaganda

Now he’s got allies and strong people disconnected from the worst of the deep-state like RFK, Musk, Gabbard, Ramaswamy

I’m more optimistic some of this list could actually become reality.
