A new Channel 12 poll has found that a majority of Israelis would vote for former U.S. President Donald Trump if they were able to participate in the upcoming U.S. elections. According to the survey, 58% of respondents said they would cast their vote for Trump, while 25% indicated support for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris. The remaining 17% said they were undecided.
The poll also asked Israelis about the timing of their own elections, with 43% of respondents expressing a desire for Israeli elections to happen immediately. A further 19% favored opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz joining the current government, replacing far-right ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich. However, 28% of those surveyed preferred the current government to continue as it is.
In terms of leadership preferences within Israel, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett emerged as the most favored candidate to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Bennett led by a notable margin, with 40% support compared to Netanyahu’s 28%. Benny Gantz, leader of the National Unity Party, also polled ahead of Netanyahu, with 34% of respondents favoring him over the current premier’s 30%. In a comparison between Netanyahu and opposition leader Yair Lapid, Netanyahu narrowly led with 31% to Lapid’s 29%.
No surprise. Israelis living with the daily threat of their neighbors wanting to annihilate them tend to see things more clearly and pragmatically.
Why not the rest of the world is already voting in the election
Lol. “If” being the biggest word in the headline.
Harris got 25% of the vote.
Remember 20% of Israel’s population is Arab Muslim.
So, it’s basically “90% of Jews in Israel” support Trump.
That’s better than evangelicals in Texas.
However, the Jewish people living in the USA do not see it that way. Trump will be lucky if he gets 35% of the Jewish vote.
I see those polls, too.
It’s so far from my experience and family and shul that I wonder who is getting polled.
Many polls I’ve seen show that the best predictor of someone voting Republican is if they attended a house of worship — of any kind, even a Reform Synagogue — on a regular basis.
So these have to be high-holiday-at-most Jewish people. Or just culturally Jewish (whatever that means).
An estimated 200,000 American citizens are in Israel, with an estimated 20,000 in the IDF. Most are eligible to vote in the US election. There are several organizations helping them to get registered and vote.
200,000 could swing a state or two.
They should all register in PA.
Because Israelis know that Trump would protect Israel, make sure they have the weapons needed to defend themselves..but with Harris they know that Israel would be cut off, no more money and more importantly no more weapons..
Yep. And you just reminded me to post one more article.
The great commentator Rashi suggests that the name Yaakov indicates subservience, while the name Yisrael indicates strength and victory. Or, as Yishai Fleischer says, American Jews are mostly whiney Woody Allens while Israelis are more like the Biblical Joshua.
Long ago, there was talk about Israel needing to attach the U.S. in order to start a war which they were sure to lose. They were sure after the loss that the U.S. would conquer them and have to admit them into the Union and make them the 51st state.
But that didn’t happen, and they are still dependent on the U.S. for their greater defense against the local hostile countries.
So, let’s skip the formality of wars and foreign diplomacy or foreign aid to Israel. Israel needs to become the 51st state, and then, the question about Israelis being able to vote in U.S. elections will become mute.
It’s the only solution going forward for the next few centuries for Israel. Or, Israel will be condemned to eternal wars with their ‘neighbors’.
25% of Israelis have a death wish.

...The defense establishment led this crusade. Not a day passed without some former chief of the General Staff, ex-head of Shin Bet, Mossad or AMAN declaring that “democracy is under threat” or the country is “on the verge of dictatorship.”
The elite threatened to refuse to serve when called up, and pilots did not report for reserve duty necessary for maintenance of their operative level. The elite threatened to take their money, grown exponentially due to government encouragement and tax breaks to strengthen the economy, out of the country. They set fires on main roads, blocked them and were treated with kid gloves by law enforcement, whose then heads identified with them.
Hamas was watching...
Actually, they probably can.
I’m guessing that Biden would not allow them to immigrate then.
Emhoff is culturally Jewish. He was born to Reform Jew parents. He likes brisket. He doesn’t go to synagogue. He married 2 non-Jews. He declares himself Jewish, in order to help non-Jewish wife Harris appeal to Jews. Culturally Jewish.
