Nicholas Kristof: "I Just Went to Darfur. Here Is What Shattered Me" {genocide of blacks by Arabs in Sudan}
New York times ^ | 18th September 2024 | Nicholas Kristof

Posted on 09/19/2024 9:09:05 PM PDT by Cronos

When an Arab militia rampaged through Maryam Suleiman’s village in the Darfur region of Sudan last year and lined up men and boys to massacre, the gunmen were blunt about their purpose.

“We don’t want to see any Black people,” a militia leader said, adding mockingly: “We don’t even want to see black trash bags.” To make his point, Maryam recalled, he shot a donkey because it was black.

Then the militia members executed men and boys who belonged to Black African ethnic groups, she said. “They shot my five brothers, one after the other,” Maryam told me, describing how her youngest brother survived the first bullet and called out to her. Then a militia member shot him in the head and sneeringly asked her what she thought of that.

The militia tried to systematically kill all the males over 10, Maryam said, and also killed some younger ones. A 1-day-old boy was thrown to the ground and killed, and one male infant was thrown into a pond to drown, she said.

The gunmen then rounded up the women and girls in a corral to rape, she added. “They raped many, many girls,” she recalled. One man tried to rape Maryam, she said, and when he failed he beat her. She was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.

“You’re slaves,” Maryam quoted the militia members as saying. “There is no place for you Black people in Sudan.” So Maryam fled to neighboring Chad and is one of more than 10 million Sudanese who have been forcibly displaced since a civil war began last year in the country and ignited pogroms against Black African ethnic groups like hers

This is an actual genocide, but no one mentions it.

These are black Muslims being killed by Arab Muslims

Quote from the article
Biden, who 20 years ago savaged President George W. Bush for not doing enough to stop the Darfur genocide, has provided aid and appointed a special envoy to push for peace talks but has said little about the current crisis. An American partner, the United Arab Emirates, supplies weapons to the militia that slaughtered and raped Thuraya’s neighbors, yet Biden has not publicly demanded that the Emirates cut off that support for killers and rapists.

The main two warring parties are the Sudanese Armed Forces and another Sudanese military branch, called the Rapid Support Forces. But the massacres I describe are of civilians who aren't really a party to that conflict. Basically, the Rapid Support Forces in particular are trying to drive out several Black African ethnic groups, in particular the Massalit, the Fur and the Zaghawa. And so the Rapid Support Forces have burned villages, killed, raped and terrorized those communities. This isn't a religious conflict, for everyone is Muslim. But it's threefold: The Rapid Support Forces are Arab and the groups they target are non-Arab; the Rapid Support Forces are lighter skinned and the tribes they target are Black, so there's a racial element; and the Arab groups are herders and the Black African ethnic groups are more likely to be settled farmers. But the basic problem is that some of the Arab tribes have dehumanized the African groups and want to kill them or drive them away. And with the world ignoring the crisis, they're succeeding

Our country used to have a President, and one of the good things about having a President was that reporters were able to ask him questions about things like international genocides.

Oh well, I guess we’ve been unburdened by that form of government.

What was Kristof doing there?
He’s lucky he didn’t somehow get wrapped up into the bloodlust just for being a foreigner.

Good thing the victims weren’t armed and they couldn’t fight back. If they could it would have been so much worse than the men and boys killed and the women and girls raped and enslaved. < / Anti-second amendment leftist>

If NY Times can’t find racism in the USA, they have to find it somewhere.

In the United States Congress some black Marxist lawmakers and Muslim lawmakers of Middle Eastern descent, as we all know, are cohorts together in the destruction of our Republic. Mohammedans will ride the Marxist/Communist horse for aggregating power as long as it works for them. The Communists, however, will eventually get their throats cut when Mohammedans insist on Sharia and all the rest. What are the black Marxists in our own Congress going to say about the Arab Militia genocide of black Sudanese?

I don’t ever want to hear anything about slavery hundreds of years ago in the Americas again. It’s stupid to even talk about it in this day and age, and those who constantly try to demonize white Americans for it can just run right over to Sudan and throw themselves in front of the Muslim slave traders who are enslaving black Africans RIGHT NOW.

Every group of people has at some point in history taken slaves of other groups, including blacks enslaving other blacks, American Indians enslaving members of rival tribes, Muslims enslaving blacks AND WHITES, whites enslaving other whites, etc.

So if you’re black and live in the U.S. and you think you’re somehow owed something for past slavery, SHUT THE HELL UP! You are incredibly fortunate that you’re here and not a resident of Sudan. And if you’re displeased with your position in life DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, and stop blaming imaginary “racism” for the consequences of your own poor choices.

Enough of the whining about long-past slavery and non-existent “systemic racism.”

Nobody cares about those blacks. They have no political value in the US.
Die away you black Africans. No one cares.
Check your yellow pages and find the address of your local “Mexican Coyote”. You should avail yourselves of their services. You might lose all your money, but your political value would skyrocket.
Then someone might pretend to care if you get killed. It’s as good as you’ll get.

Oh and the New York Times still pretends to care too. We now capitalize the “B” when we write about blacks. It’s not blacks, it’s “Blacks”.
So, for the whole race, we give you one capital letter. Feel better? You’re so important we’re trying to let you know.
Did a bunch of you get shot in Sudan? Yeah, so sad. Even though you’re dead, you’re still “Blacks”. Die happily.
Well, what’s on TV tonight?

What’s happening in Sudan is racism of the worst kind - where people are killing others just because of the “group” they belong to.

Let’s not kid ourselves - there is racism in most places, but most of us don’t experience or DO this. Most of us instinctively don’t judge people based on their race - but some do - and they do so in the US, in Denmark, in India, in China, in Nigeria etc.

The world is less racist than it was and getting better, but this case in Sudan is horrific.
