A helpless mom was zip-tied in front of her small children as armed men in Texas who posed as food delivery people forced their way into a Houston home.
Those same thugs shot an police officer who later arrived at the home where the mom and kids were being terrorized after a worried neighbor called 9-1-1.
The armed men pushed their way into the house after the mother answered the door Tuesday morning, initially hiding the guns.
'He came up with a red DoorDash bag, and he knocked...or rang the doorbell, and my daughter was going to tell him that he was at the wrong address,' Ben Bates, the woman's father told local TV stations.
'As soon as he opened the door, he pulled a gun out of the DoorDash bag, and he proceeded to ransack the house.'
Fortunately for the mom and her little ones, a neighbor watched the strangers rush into the house and called police for help, the Houston Police Department confirmed.
While police were still en route to the home, the woman, with bound wrists, was forced at gunpoint to guide the intruders through her home and show them where her valuables were, reported KPRC.
Houston police officer S.A. Durfee arrived at the home after a suspicious neighbor called for help.
He entered the home and confronted the robbers.
Officer Durfee was shot once in the thigh by one of the gunmen, who then fled the house.

Did the perps have last names that end with a Z?
Houston “brutes” huh?
They should have let him sit in that fridge until he wanted to come out.
Eventually he would beg to come out.
It’s Houston ... the “brutes” very likely have names with an excess of apostrophes.
You were right, I was wrong ...
Perez, Perez, and Chavez.
Nothing in the article about their immigration status.
Thasss racissss!
Call Perez, Perez, and Chavez now for all your legal and landscaping needs.
Spring Branch is NOT a bad area, of Houston.
Well, not as bad as so many other areas.
But ... anything within close proximity to Central Houston is bad, these days :-(
Thank goodness this lady’s neighbors were keeping a good eye on her.
illegal invaders or just regular Houston ferals?
Maybe for landscaping. But I’ll stay with my old law firm for legal work.
I’m not in the Houston area, but this damn sure gives us REAL Doordash drivers a bad reputation. I’d hate to be thought of as some ‘brute’ when I’m actually coming to the door to deliver something.
How “BRUTISH” of them..!
Keep you doors locked and never never never open it to strangers.
Yes it is.
At least it was circa 2010. Has it been re-gentrified since then?
18 year old, welcome to adult prison where the big dawgs play.
Biden’s America...
It’s certainly not 4th ward, or, any ward ... or even Heights or Montrose.
It is west of Central Houston ... but, crime is everywhere, now.
Look at the pic of the house/neighborhood in the article ... does it look like anything you’d see South, say around Hobby?
i can’t figure out why they thought these guys weren’t ACTUAL DoorDash drivers ...
