I doubt that this golf outing was a last-second decision. The SS would need advance notice to be able to (or allegedly be able to) properly prepare. This sounds like they are trying to blame Trump for the assassination attempt. And the perp may have said he was there for 12 hours, but that doesn't mean he was there for 12 hours or anywhere near that long.
