Of course the inflation reduction act wasn’t meant to reduce inflation. It actually contributed to it.

Just like the patriot act wasn’t about patriotism and the affordable care act was about mandating insurance thereby raising prices.

There are probably hundreds of examples of laws being named to nearly the opposite of it’s intent, or at least very propagandist in connotation
