The Gateway Pundit previously reported on the suspicious ‘warning call’ that Apalachee High School reportedly received the morning of the shooting.
From TGP:
“New details have emerged from Wednesday’s shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, regarding a warning the school received prior to the gunman opening fire.
Despite reportedly receiving a phone call stating that the high school would be the first of five targets, seemingly nothing was done to prevent the violence.”
Now bombshell text messages have been released by the Washington Post, showing that the warning calls that were previously reported came from the shooter’s mother, Marcee Gray.
According to reports, Marcee told family members via text messages that she called the high school the morning of the shooting and warned a counselor about an “extreme emergency” involving her 14-year-old son Colt Gray.
The claims are supported by call log data showing a 10-minute phone call from Marcee‘s phone to the school about half an hour before the gunman began firing.
The text message from Marcee reads, “ I was the one that notified the school counselor at the high school.”
“I told them it was an extreme emergency and for them to go immediately and find [my son] to check on him.”
According to the shooter’s sister, Annie Brown, a counselor told Marcee during the call that her son Colt had been talking about school shootings earlier in the morning.
The report states that school administrators had gone to check on the boy, but due to a mix-up with names, they were unable to locate him and ended up confiscating the wrong student’s bag just minutes before the shooting took place.

Yes, which is why nothing was done because everyone was thinking of their own personal safety.
I was pondering this case, yesterday. This kid, and any like him, are just props for the lefties. If he hanged himself in his closet, they’d rail about LGBTQ acceptance, the need for anti-bullying programs, tolerance training, blah, blah. blah. If he goes off his nut and shoots up the school, we need all of the above, plus gun control.
The mother too is an idiot. If she knew the school was to be the first of five locations he son was planning on shooting up, why did she call a school counselor and not the police?
She had prior knowledge and did next to nothing to prevent the murders. She needs to be arrested and tried as an accomplice.
After she, her husband, and her son are convicted, they can fight over who gets the green wire, who gets the white white, and who gets the black wire attached to the metal vest for their group hug picture.
The competency and intelligence level of the person taking the call is not likely to be very high. The highly competent, motivated and take-charge person who would react appropriately is not going to be taking calls from parents at a school. That person will have a better and more demanding job.
In my experience most people, regardless of their jobs, can only handle the “normal” calls they’d receive. Something outside those tight bands is not something they know what to do with. Someone who sits at their desk surfing the internet, handling “normal” calls is not going to “go check on my son.” What does that mean? Why would I be the one to get up and do it? The best that might be achieved is if the person taking the call sent it to the next person up the ladder. Now you have a “translation” communications problem. Throw into this the personality of the majority of people you’ll find in the school environment is beta male, beta female and not aggressive or problem resolution focused. In their world something drops into the “in” basket, they process it and pop it into the “out” basket.
The mother should have called 911 and said, “I think my son is going to shoot up the school.” That person knows what to do and who to call. Of course, the likely outcome is a dead son. Something that may have made her call the least likely to help option.
Sounds like a Marquis de Sade French novel. A deranged murderer is spared the death penalty and placed in prison. He demands mutilating surgery. The prison gladly provides a sadistic surgeon to mutilate him and the prison staff takes an extroadinary pleasure in the torture. Crime and Punishment in an era of neo pagan ,hedonistic decadence.
> Marcee told family members via text messages that she called the high school <
If the threat is that serious, don’t call a school. Schools are full of officials who are incapable of making important decisions.
For goodness sake. Call the sheriff or the police.
Similarly, when a potential sniper is spotted at a campaign event, the first thing you do is protect the potential target, not act like a bunch of bird watchers, waiting to see what happens next.
I remember some friends had a new puppy that they couldn’t find, and they were kind of panicky. I went out to look in the street, and one of them said “I think he’s in the back yard,” to which I responded, “Then he’s fine. If he’s in the road, I wanna know right now.”
“Despite reportedly receiving a phone call stating that the high school would be the first of five targets, seemingly nothing was done to prevent the violence.”
2 takeaways.
1. They were warned and did NOTHING!
2. The mother apparently refused to identify the shooter as her son.
“2. The mother apparently refused to identify the shooter as her son.”
WRONG! I guess I should have read it.
“1. They were warned and did NOTHING!”
Correction:
1. They were warned and didn’t do ENOUGH!
To self:
Knee JERK reaction.
> Did the person who took the call take it seriously? <
Long-time public school teacher here. I’m guessing the person did take it seriously. But as I noted elsewhere, most school officials are incapable of making correct decisions outside of their narrow job description.
The mother made an error by not first calling the sheriff. The school official made an error by not immediately calling the sheriff.
The mom probably didn’t want to see her son arrested. The school official probably didn’t want to see his school on the evening news. So both are responsible for taking only pathetic half-measures.
Excellent analysis, General! You hit the nail right on the head.
Please see my posts #27 and #33.
The schools official(s) who ignored this call is as guilty as the Dad.
