President Kamala Harris made her way to the Omni William Penn Hotel where she will be staying for a few days.
That certainly caused some commotion, with roads closed and spectators hanging around to see if they could get a glimpse of Harris. And, of course, this activity draws those crowds to the surrounding businesses.
"It was good to know that she’s going to be here for a few days, so hopefully that will bring more money, more business," said Shalona Kennedy, assistant manager at Jimmy John's.
"It’s not a terrible thing. It’s not terrible for business or anything," Talia bar manager Christopher West said

That has to be one of the nicest things anyone’s ever said about Harris…
Very much doubt there are surging crowds to catch a glimpse of Harris. Those closed roads will keep out the usual customers and those businesses will suffer.
Shame on you Pittsburgh.

I have stayed at that hotel downtown for several days during business meetings. It is old-school elegance, but not very comfortable. (Other than their Lawrence Welk original bubble machine.)
For example, no self-serve coffee pots in the room - You must use room service to bring up one cup at a time from below. /lots of money

People hanging around hoping for a glimpse of Kamala are much more likely to steal from you than to spend money with you.
