Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) highlighted the “horror” of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, and his own response, in an ad released Tuesday as part of his campaign for the U.S. Senate.
“On January 6, as we watched in horror, Hogan didn’t just talk about defending democracy, he did something. Sending in the Maryland National Guard to protect the Capitol,” the narrator says in the TV ad, titled “Never Backs Down.”
“That’s the same Larry Hogan. Tough. Independent. Never backs down,” the narrator continues.
The one-minute ad shows footage from the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, along with a news clip that says Hogan sent in 500 Maryland National Guard troops and 200 state troopers to assist in defending the Capitol that day.
Hogan has been one of the most notable critics of former President Trump. He has said he will not be voting for Trump in November, and he did not attend the Republican National Convention last month as he hopes to win the deep-blue state of Maryland against Democrat Angela Alsobrooks.
The ad describes Hogan as an “early critic of Donald Trump” as news clips appear on the screen painting the former governor as the “face” of the “anti-Trump GOP” and as the “un-Trump Republican”. The narrator also said Hogan is “one of the few Republicans who never caved.”

This is a mistake by Hogan and will cost him vastly more votes than it will gain.
He is spending 8 mil on this you’d think he knows what he is doing and has he pulse of the voters

They saw that Biden’s people and agenda were passed. They ushered in the inflation and then like Susan Collins and Murkowski, claimed that Spending did not cause the Inflation.

If he’s against PACKING THE COURTS (and hence reversing Trump’s judges), then I vote for him, regardless of ANYTHING he says. And I suspect he’s against that.
Romney is sitting at Hogan’s feet to learn more. I voted for that dirtbag for governor. I can’t stand him. He has kicked us in the teeth for years. I don’t know yet how I’m going to vote.
Larry Hogan comes the closest to what the GOP is looking for in the U.S. Senate, AND Larry Hogan comes the closest to what CONSERVATIVES are looking for, within all of Maryland, despite his ongoing RINO Republicanism and despite his ongoing anti-Trumpisms! This is Maryland! This is the closest that the GOP, in Maryland, has come to, actually, having a serious chance of winning this U.S. Senate seat! GOP control of the U.S. Senate is key! Vote for this SOB, Larry Hogan, despite all of his problems! It doesn’t help our side, politically, if the “D’s” end up winning this seat! This is the definite way to think about all of this!
I’ve said this here before...as someone who was born and raised in MD, but left in 2005, Hogan is the best you will get from Maryland for the Senate. The only good thing about Hogan is the “R” next to his name. He’ll vote “conservative” maybe 30% of the time, but it’s 30% more than you’ll get from any Dem.
this guy is a whiney, 2 faced *itch, just like his old man...one of the first “Republicans” to turn on Nixon and stab him in the back in 1974.
He didn’t think it was a horror when it was happening to us
