WASHINGTON – Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) today issued a subpoena to Governor Tim Walz’s administration to hold it accountable in what has been called the “largest COVID-19 fraud scheme in the nation.” Subpoenas were also issued to the Biden-Harris administration’s U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and its Office of Inspector General (OIG).
In 2022, a U.S. attorney charged 70 individuals associated with Minnesota-based Feeding Our Future (FOF) for their alleged roles in defrauding the USDA of over $250 million in taxpayer funds—money intended to feed hungry children. To date, five individuals have been convicted of fraud that the assistant U.S. attorney on the case called “not just criminal, [but] depraved and brazen.” Charges include federal programs bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering. While dozens are still awaiting trial, questions remain regarding the role of the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) administration of the Federal Child Nutrition Programs and its oversight of FOF.
After MDE, under Governor Walz, failed to respond to previous attempts by the Committee to garner information necessary to uncover how the Governor and the USDA allowed such fraud to occur, the Committee today is proceeding with a subpoena to compel responses.
In the subpoena cover letter to Governor Walz, Chairwoman Foxx writes: “As the chief executive and the highest ranking official in the state of Minnesota, you are responsible for the MDE and its administration of FCNPs…Statements in the press by you and your representatives indicate that you and other executive officers were involved, or had knowledge of, MDE’s administration of the FCNP and responsibilities and actions regarding the massive fraud.”
In the subpoena cover letter to the Minnesota Commissioner of Education Willie Jett, Chairwoman Foxx writes: “On June 25, 2024, and August 9, 2024, the Committee received two additional productions of documents. Despite these productions, the documents and information provided to the Committee do not explain how your agency and the USDA failed to identify what has been described as the largest pandemic fraud in the nation. The MDE’s production of information has been neither timely nor fully responsive. Accordingly, the Committee is invoking compulsory process.”

I bet Walz pocketed a large sum of the money for himself
I am almost certain of it.
I hope this action results in: (1) a Democratic loss in November; and, (2) my home state being rid of this slime bag once and for all.
Kamala the Cackling Party Girl Post Turtle

Judge Warned Tim Walz to Stop Lying About $250 Million Fraud by Minnesota Somalis
Walz’s DOE failed to conduct proper oversight over the tax-funded program.

Ramsey County District Court Judge John Guthmann in 2022 admonished Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) for making “inaccurate” and “false” statements in claiming he forced the governor to continue making payments to the scandal-ridden Feeding Our Future nonprofit, which is at the center of a scheme to steal $250 million from a coronavirus-era welfare program.
Breitbart News reported about how Gov. Walz’s lax oversight of a federal food aid program led to dozens of Somali migrants stealing $250 million for a program meant for children in need. In September 2022, the Justice Department charged 47 Somali immigrants in Minnesota with stealing $250 million from a coronavirus relief program meant to feed needy children. Only $50 million has been recovered as of June.
Breitbart News reported: The Somali scheme involved the 47 defendants, whom prosecutors say created an umbrella group called “Feeding Our Future” and then created numerous sub-groups that were advertised as bringing food to needy children during the pandemic. The accused Somalis allegedly used the fraudulent groups to file for relief funding at mosques across Gov Walz’s Minnesota. Once they obtained the funding, they reported feeding thousands of children every day and supplied rosters of non-existent children to the government to show their outreach.
One such fraudulent feeding center was so brazen that it just copied all the names from a website called listofrandomnames.com and sent that list to federal authorities to claim that it fed the people on the list, prosecutors said.
An audit by a nonpartisan watchdog found that Walz’s Dept of Education failed to conduct proper oversight over the program. Walz has claimed that he was forced to continue making payments to Feeding Our Future, which Guthmann strongly slapped down in a statement. (Excerpt) Read more at breitbart.com ...
The thieving Somalis colluded to recruit other Somalis to open
phony Child Nutrition Program sites throughout Walz’s Minnesota.
<><>They fraudulently claimed 1000’s of children a day were being fed
<><>brazenly, within just days or weeks of being formed, the Somalis were feeding kids.
<><>they created dozens of phony shell companies to steal tax dollars from the federal program
<><>phony shell companies received and laundered $250 million fraudulent proceeds
<><>they falsified govt documents to get their hands on tax dollars
<><>fraudulent data ‘documented’ the number of children and meals served
<><>false invoices ‘documented’ phony purchases of food served to phantom children
<><>fake attendance rosters listed phantom names and ages of children being fed
<><>Somalis fabricated and created fake names from “www.listofrandomnames.com” web site
<><>federal tax dollars only reimbursed for meals served to children,
<><>so the conniving Somalis used Excel to falsify the ages on the rosters.
Despite knowing the claims were fraudulent, the Somali’s phony, “Feeding Our Future,” submitted fraudulent claims and then disbursed the fraudulently obtained $250 million Federal Child Nutrition Program tax funds to the individuals and entities colluding in the scheme.
<><>sponsors of the fraudulent participation in the program, “Feeding Our Future” received more than $18 million in “administrative fees” to which it was not entitled.
<><>In addition to administrative fees, “Feeding Our Future” fraudsters colluded to solicit and receive bribes and kickbacks from individual Somalis and companies sponsored by “Feeding Our Future.”
<><>Many of these kickbacks were paid in cash or disguised as “consulting fees” paid to shell companies created by Feeding Our Future employees to make them appear legitimate.
The thieving Somalis went on high-end spending sprees purchasing luxury cars and property.
Odd isnt it......the refugees “magically knew” all
the ins and outs of sophisticated federal programs.
Musta had help from “someone” in Congress who represents them.....snx.
I recall reading somewhere, in passing, that Walz has a net worth well over 100 million. I wondered at the time where he got all that money.
Well there is alot of crap So I will hope with you
Largest Covid fraud my *ss. “ In our new report, we estimated that the total amount of fraud across all UI programs (including the new emergency programs) during the COVID-19 pandemic was likely between $100 billion and $135 billion—or 11% to 15% of the total UI benefits paid out during the pandemic.” https://www.gao.gov/blog/more-fraud-has-been-found-federal-covid-funding-how-much-was-lost-under-unemployment-insurance-programs
