I think this capsule doesn’t have s/w to undock without being piloted from inside the capsule. And I don’t think they are able to do a s/w update on it either. Not at present anyway.
How long is the battery life of the star ship?
It seems strange that we can send updates to our spacecraft that are at the limit of our travel in space so far (Pioneer 1 & 2) , yet we can’t send an update to the Starliner given weeks to do it.`
I could download the entire encyclopedia britannica given 2 weeks, and the signal has to go up to a satellite and come back down. Is the brain of the Starliner a retarded AI ? A little slow on the uptake, as we used to say.
IMHO, the Starliner crew don’t want to travel back down in the Starliner, and everything we see and hear is just a show to entertain us so that Boeing can save face and the crew doesn’t have to broadcast their lack of trust in the craft to ensure their safety.
