I am wondering what sort of meteorological factors were in play to move the hurricane more eastward from its original track and travel inland w/o dumping its water and then inland and westward over mountains. There was no additional water source and it should have dumped the load over east Alabama and Georgia, moving off over South Carolina. That is the usual track and behavior of hurricanes.

3 states in, we had lots of wind and rain. Unlike any other hurricane, they are calling it a 1000 year flood. Most here didn’t have flood insurance as they were not in a designated flood plain.
