I was just referring to the information that Spunky had posted. It mentioned that it’s an active volcano.

“We thought about moving near Crescent City or Eureka california”

Did you ever watch that YouTube link I sent you? If I recall the area where the guy said he would let the right people homestead on a part of his land was near Eureka or maybe it was Yreka. I get those two mixed up.

I did see that, Spunky. Not sure how serious he is....I suspect he’s helping President Trump with the troll.

Yeah I watched part of it. I don’t remember him giving a city name, but he did say the salmon River watershed. Looks like that’s between Crescent City and Yreka, a little South.

Looks like too much work and likely too many liberals. He sounded too hippy-ish, as opposed to rednecks. But I didn’t watch it all. I’d rather own my own place and not be able to be evicted. (I assume that’s what he means by homesteading? Did you hear him say otherwise?)

That sounds like a really nice setup for those a little younger than us. And a little more fluid.

Very pretty there, reminds me of our cabin terrain. I prefer those open spaces to all the greenery here.

“They should also be suing individually the members of that committee that covered up lied, destroyed evidence, and made up evidence”

Yes, the J6 committee should be personally and criminally liable. I suppose that’s why Johnson’s first CR gave them immunity.

“Did you have many leftovers from Christmas to be eating the next couple days?”

Too many. But it is nice to just open the frig and find meals. Problem is I’m finding desserts as well!

Very true, NC is still struggling.

I have some friends that went to see family over there, they said the terrain will never recover in our lifetime, it is still very devastated and too mountainous to access to clean up all the debris

“I did not realize that big volcano was still considered active. Does that mean at any time it could blow just like Mount Saint Helens did?”

It does and there has been some VERY small earthquakes recorded from it. There is no indication of any immediate danger though.

“I’m only familiar with Sandunes on the Atlanta coast and they shift around all the time.”

If there is no water then yes the Sand Dunes do blow and shift. Once all the dams were built and they were able to irrigate this area sand grows A lot of different crops and lawns are nice and green. So when they build on the Dunes and irrigate it is stable.

“mother-in-law is from the western Eastern part of the state. The Walla Walla girl is Polly and the Eastern coast mother-in-law is Shirley.”

The above statement has me totally confused. “western Eastern” “Eastern coast”

How can there be a western Eastern and I know of no Eastern Coast in WA state only the Western Coast.

Sorry but you are not correct Publius.

“Mount Rainier is an active volcano:”

History
“Mount Rainier has been active for the past half-million years, and is expected to erupt again in the future. It last had a major eruption over 500 years ago.

Monitoring
“Scientists monitor Mount Rainier for signs of an eruption, including:
Small earthquakes
Land deformation or swelling
Increases in volcanic gas emissions
Increases in soil temperatures”

The most recent earthquake near Mount Rainier was on December 23, 2024 at 2:32:48 PM PST, with a magnitude of 0.6.
Mount Rainier is the most seismically active volcano in the Cascades of Washington and Oregon. On average, there are three to four earthquakes per month within four miles of the summit. Some earthquakes occur in swarms that last from hours to days.”

Here are some other recent earthquakes near Mount Rainier:
December 23, 2024 at 11:21:35 PM PST
December 23, 2024 at 11:15:13 PM PST
February 18, 2021: A brief earthquake swarm was detected”

“Mount Rainier’s last major eruption was 500 to 600 years ago, when there were heavy ash and pumice falls.”
