Resolving historical issues is primarily in Ukraine's interest, as it will not become a member of the European Union without Poland's consent, according to the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
As reported, on Wednesday, August 28, during a meeting between Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, Kuleba was asked about the historical issues that "divide our countries."
In response, Kuleba stated that if we start digging into history, Ukrainians and Poles could blame each other for various negative events. Therefore, it would be better for both countries to build the future together and leave history to historians.

It’s becoming clear now that Russia cannot permit Ukraine to exist in any form, or they’ll be again shooting missiles at Russian nuclear plants and all it takes is one hit in the right spot to have another Chernobyl, or worse.
So the question now is who gets the spoils. I suspect that Russia would be even willing to pay Poland to take the Nazi Sector (Lvov and most of Western Ukraine), just so Russia doesn’t have to deal with that crap. Hungary will get their part. Not sure about the rest, particularly the final dividing line between Poland and Russia, in what was once Ukraine.
Oh well, live and learn, wars change borders, so starting wars isn’t too smart since you may end up with less than you started with, or nothing, in Ukraine’s case.
Don’t forget Germany “invaded” Poland in 1939 because Poland took the German land first!

A history book of Europe is nothing more than a collected box score of a thousand conflicts on these lands to the west of Russia over the last millennia.
Proxy war? Exactly how does Ukraine defend itself from Russia or get them to leave Ukrainian territory without fighting?
The people in that part of the world have very long memories. There is an awful lot of bad blood among all of the nations involved. What is the Polish phrase? ‘Not my circus, not my monkeys.’

Well, they could have started back in Budapest, Hungary in 1994, and told the U.K., Russia and Bill Clinton, along with Donald Blinken, the U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, to take a hike, and not given up their nukes. For making themselves vulnerable, Kyiv received financial assistance from the United States, cheap energy supplies from Russia, and security guarantees. Of course the offer of money came first. That always turns heads, and changes minds doesn't it? And although the UK was a part of it, what compensation other than a loose promise of security down the line did the UK puke up?
Are you really okay with forcing men to fight and die for Ukraine, when their own government won't even let them voice their opinions at the ballot box on what the future of the country should be, their own future, and the survival of their families?
We are talking about now, not the past. Exactly how does Ukraine resist a Russian invasion now without fighting? Nor are the Ukrainians reluctant to defend themselves. Stop your wishful thinking, Ukrainians are overwhelmingly supportive of the war. As for the suspended elections, Zelensky was following the provision of the constitutions. Churchill, too, suspended elections during the war. Do you think that the British were being forced to fight the war against their will?
You can't talk about now without talking about the past. They are intertwined, especially regarding Ukraine's ability to protect itself. They sold out in 1994, and have been reaping the ill winds of their decision 30 years ago. "What is past is prologue," or haven't you ever heard of that saying?
I don't give a crap that Churchill suspended elections. What good did it do him? They canned his ass when he resumed elections. Perhaps if he'd simply allowed the country to vote those years, he'd never would have had an interruption in his time as Prime Minister. The people tossed Churchill aside at the time they needed him most, but then the Brits have never been very smart to begin with.
You still have not answered my question: Exactly how does Ukraine resist a Russian invasion now without fighting? Defending oneself is not a proxy war.
At the end of WWII, Ukraine received part of Poland and Poland received part of Germany.

Oh, one other thing: it seemed to me the Polish film makers bent over backwards to show how the Poles lorded it over the Ukrainian peasants. One can sympathize with the peasants’ plight, but no sympathy at all for what they did.
Russia certainly doesn’t want the Galician sector of Ukraine. I don’t think Poland does either.
Poland does not want Ukraine in the EU, not for a long, long time. They want to be able to send all the Ukrainian refugees back to Ukraine and they want them to stay there.
