A Kentucky man who was the first known person to breach the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has been sentenced to more than four years in prison.

Michael Sparks, 47, was convicted in March by a federal jury in the District of Columbia on all six charges that he faced, including two felony offenses of obstruction of an official proceeding and civil disorder.

On Aug. 27, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced Sparks to 53 months in prison and fined him $2,000.

Hoping that after President Trump is re-elected, that he pardons all these patriots. And installs better judges.

Burn down a city, the police department, the fire station, kill people—no problem.

Peacefully walk into a public building—hard time in jail.

Video surveillance from inside the U.S. Capitol shows that Sparks entered the building at 2:13 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2021, jumping through a window that was shattered by another demonstrator with a stolen riot police shield, according to court filings. Congress recessed less than one minute after his entry.

...two felony offenses of obstruction of an official proceeding...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I thought SCOTUS ruled the prosecutors were abusing this statute.
In that case I have no sympathy for him. Four years does sound a little steep though.
One charge of obstructing an official proceeding against Sparks has been dropped after the U.S. Supreme Court clarified the legal standard requiring prosecutors to prove that the defendant “impaired the availability or integrity” of records, documents, or other objects used in an official proceeding.
"Peacefully walk into a public building"
There's no way you think they entered that building peacefully. There's just no way.
I wonder how they were able to make the one charge stick. Maybe he destroyed some files or computers or something.
The police were letting people walk into the building. I've seen the video CCTV. That's how "The Viking" entered the building too—peacefully. There were cops aplenty but they said naught.
What about Ray Epps and his band of merry men all with bullhorns encouraging protesters to storm the Capitol Bldg???They seemed to be acting in some sort of an official authority while directing protesters what to do. Who paid Epp’s and all expenses to get to Washington from Az. and who paid his living expenses while organizing his well planned directives; was is Soros, Pelosi, or the DNC?
I don’t like arguing whether Jan 6 was peaceful or a riot, or if it was organic or FBI staged. That kind of arguing distracts from the real issue, which is what they were protesting: the massive vote fraud. That’s the part that needs the most attention.
