Prosecutors have indicted Matthew Farwell, a former Stoughton police detective, on charges that he killed 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore.
Birchmore was pregnant at the time of her death in February 2021. After being told that he was the father of the child, Farwell strangled Birchmore to death and staged the scene to appear as if she took her own life, according to documents filed by federal authorities Tuesday in U.S. District Court...
Farwell befriended Birchmore, going to the library with her and contacting her on social media. He “essentially groomed her,” Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy said at the press conference.
When Birchmore was 15 and Farwell 27, he allegedly had sex with her. They reportedly continued to have sexual relations until early 2021, with Farwell secretly meeting with Birchmore while he was on duty. The state medical examiner’s office ruled that Birchmore died by suicide three months after her body was found. But earlier this summer, a forensic pathologist hired by Birchmore’s family said in a report that she was a homicide victim who died by strangulation.

Any competent Coroner would have been able to determine strangulation without much trouble. We got DEI hires now or was it a friendly coroner helping a buddy out?

This has the potential to become a much bigger case.
There’s another case in the town where the murder scene was staged by “Officer Too Friendly”, wherein a Boston police officer was killed, allegedly by his drunk girlfriend, Karen Read, whose case just ended in a mistrial. Her defense was he was really beaten to death by local police officers, it was plausible enough to have most of the jury in her favor, and the lead investigator for the Commonwealth in THAT case is now under Federal investigation for unspecified charges.
When the killer of the pregnant girl (a Stoughton MA cop) killed her, she was living in Canton MA where this second case took place, and the killer may have had help from the same cops Karen Read claimed at trial had beaten her boyfriend to death and then staged HIS death scene to implicate her.
This does have potential to blow uo the whole Massachusetts State-local police empire.

Thanks for posting. The corrupt ma state police is beyond the pale. When cops kill people they’ve abused then frame an innocent. Its past time to clean house.
