I understand where this POV comes from. But, I watched the tape and I can’t agree. We don’t know enough about Walz’s normal demeanor, nor what type of overt guidance his son needs, in order to make any judgement about it. I’ll give him a pass on this.

Walz's wife looked pissed off with hubby boy. It looked like Walz was treating both his son and wife like stage props. Reading Walz's facial expression, I can tell you that he slaps his kid and wife around at home. After the kids are out of the house, Mrs. Walz will dump Stolen Valor Boy like a fresh hot grogan.

I Think what strikes me is how unnecessary it appears to have been for him to yank on his son’s arm. Gus was already going the right direction at the right pace.
And why is Governor Walz looking so grim as he walks across the stage with his family? It should be a pretty happy moment.
