Back in the early 2000s, I was at a Barnes & Noble book store in NYC. A rabbi was hosting a book discussion. I listened in briefly.
He said that Bush, the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth, was taking out Israel's chief enemy, Iraq. He said this was proof of the existence of God.
That was about 20 years ago. The tenor in NYC book circles has certainly changed.
