A number of large-bladed "zombie" knives have been handed in to a Welsh police force before legislation makes them illegal to own.
North Wales Police shared an image of the knives, which were handed in to officers in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, for destruction.
From 23 September, it will be a criminal offence to possess zombie-style knives and machetes in the UK.
An official Home Office "surrender period" will be in place from 26 August to 23 September, during which time financial compensation will be given for each knife handed in.

Good point, maybe they can hire a muslim with the tools as they get a pass. I have a machete that not only whacks tall brush, but I've used it to ward off raccoons. Also get coyotes in the yard.
Machetes are OK, but I find that I mostly use an old kukri for machete-type work around the yard. It would be just as illegal in England.

I mostly get snakes, if anything. Usually the exotic is only passing through. Every now and then a coyote cruises by, but they show no interest in being exposed for very long.

I’m a big fan of the Gurkha knives. My former C/O used to gift a kukri to members who provided distinguished service. Even with that provenance it would likely be illegal under the new code described in the post. A useful tool being criminalized because of its misuse.
I “won” one of those once... It’s red though. Garbage steel. I think it’s in the back of my closet somewhere. Doesn’t even make a good prop for a Halloween costume.
Of course, I have a number of other VERY nice blades including a couple of Nepalese kukri’s, one of which is big enough to decapitate deer.
