Not an intelligent comment. The Constitution specifically puts the President in charge of the military. So its not analogous.

At the time it was written there was no standing army, or military. At the time standing armies were considered tyrannical and the thought was whenever necessary militias from each state would be assembled to protect the country and the president would then be the commander in chief.
A permanent standing military is not constitutional, as it was originally intended.
