I've taken to subtly mocking my Democrat neighbors by telling them that I've heard a rumor that someone tried to assassinate President Trump, but wasn't sure if it was true.
I then ask them if they've heard anything about it.

Several years ago, I was having a beer at the VETs and two guys were getting real loud at the end of the bar.
One guy punched the other in the mouth, grabbed him and threw him out the door.
He said the guy was a liar and never saw combat in 'Nam.
I didn't know either guy, so I don't know but I never saw the guy that got bounced back in the bar.
Many people get emotional over that sorta thing, and I don’t blame them. Regardless of which war, there are those that go through pure hell and take that hell home with them for the rest of their lives.
Then some jackass comes along making up stories. You can tell their made up because they can’t keep their lies on track and trip themselves up. I know one such person and he went to the point of going to the VA for a PTSD claim so he could have the money to support his sons drug habit. You just can’t sink lower than that.
