A quote from Wyoming's governor and a local prosecutor were the first things that seemed slightly off to Powell Tribune reporter CJ Baker. Then, it was some of the phrases in the stories that struck him as nearly robotic.
The dead giveaway, though, that a reporter from a competing news outlet was using generative artificial intelligence to help write his stories came in a June 26 article about the comedian Larry the Cable Guy being chosen as the grand marshal of the Cody Stampede Parade.
"The 2024 Cody Stampede Parade promises to be an unforgettable celebration of American independence, led by one of comedy's most beloved figures," the Cody Enterprise reported.
The publisher and editor at the Enterprise, which was co-founded in 1899 by Buffalo Bill Cody, have since apologized and vowed to take steps to ensure it never happens again.

Artificial intelligence has no intelligence and same goes for the idiots that use it because they’re too lazy ,LOL
Only one reporter???
AI is everywhere and used for just about everything.
Even the article above was generated by AI. ;)
Who to believe? ;)
I bet a ton of the Russia-Ukraine wasted bandwidth is Generative AI and botshite.
It’s terrifying to think that, because of the speed and volume of output from AI, no one will be able or willing to check the work; bad in journalism, potentially catastrophic in science and engineering, or medicine.
AI Paragraph Generator
Generates a lengthy, detailed paragraph further explaining a short topic description
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, where content creation is king, it’s no surprise that many individuals have turned to the power of artificial intelligence to streamline their posting and publishing processes. For the person whose brain has seemingly gone on strike, AI has become a invaluable tool, allowing them to generate high-quality, engaging content with minimal manual effort. By leveraging advanced language models and content generation algorithms, this individual can now produce a steady stream of posts, articles, and updates across their social media channels and online platforms, without the mental fatigue and creative roadblocks that would normally hinder a human-driven approach. The AI-powered system learns their unique writing style, tone, and preferences, seamlessly integrating these elements to craft posts that feel authentic and personalized, even if the brain behind the keyboard has momentarily clocked out. This innovative use of technology not only frees up time and mental resources, but also ensures a consistent, polished online presence - a critical asset in an era where audience engagement and online visibility are paramount to success. While purists may scoff at the idea of “AI-generated” content, the pragmatic individual with the brain on strike understands that sometimes, a little technological assistance is precisely what’s needed to keep the digital fires burning brightly.

Yes and they are the last to know about it that’s why they call our homes for surveys.
See? BS!
Why bother using AI? Urinalists just make up fake quotes all the time.
“Sources say”
“Experts say.”
“Some say.”
“ Those familiar with say”
“Cassidy Hutchinson says.”
Garbage in, garbage out.
A few months ago, a lazy lawyer tried to present some case files in court but the judge called him on it being bs. The lawyer admitted it was AI so the judge told him to come back with truthful arguments. He did but again used AI. The judge didn’t do a thing.
You think you hate journalists enough but you don’t.
He didn’t put in the human effort to fake the news himself.
Consider that Kamala Harris speeches are entirely AI generated since she can’t put a coherent sentence together herself.
A lot of people are going to get poisoned by AI generated articles on medicinal herbs, mushroom foraging, and the like.
