Just hand the cop your drivers license and if you have a concern, dial 911 while he’s running your information. By the way, this did not happen on a country road out in the middle of nowhere. This was in a neighborhood.

True, but irrelevant in this scenario.
Just hand the cop your drivers license
Maybe you haven't been tracking, but she had a legitimate reason to doubt he was a cop, i.e. refusal to show credentials. If he's an imposter, now he knows her address and becomes a potential stalker. Like cops, women cannot let their guard down. And yes, assaults occur in neighborhoods too.
