Kellyanne Conway presses Trump for ‘fewer insults’ in bid for ‘winning formula’
The Washington Examiner ^ | 08/13/2024 | Emily Hallas

Former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway joined the chorus of GOP strategists who want former President Donald Trump to change his tone on the campaign trail.

Conway told Fox Business anchor Larry Kudlow during an interview on Monday that her former boss needs to adapt his rhetoric to produce a “winning formula” against Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The winning formula for President Trump is very plain to see,” Conway proclaimed. “It’s fewer insults, more insights, and that policy contrast.”

The GOP strategist worked closely with Trump for three years before retiring from her role as counselor to the president in August 2020.

If President Trump would just contrast the policies, he’ll win!” Conway added. “Because he has a 2-to-1 advantage over Biden-Harris on the economy and inflation, on the border, on Israel and Hamas, on the key issues that are important to people.”

***

Conway isn’t the only GOP strategist worried that Trump’s stabs on Harris could detract from his presidential ambitions.

Republican pollster Frank Luntz is among others who have suggested Trump’s “persona” is hurting his campaign.

*** Conway was rumored to have had a fallout with Trump insiders after the former president picked Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) to be his running mate. Over a dozen MAGA insiders allegedly accused the former White House counselor of fueling negative press about Vance after the Ohio Republican was launched as Trump’s No. 2.

However, the ex-White House adviser planted herself firmly in the Trump camp during her interview with Kudlow. Deriding Harris for being “afraid” to speak to the media, Conway touted Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and claimed the GOP leader had “the best opportunity” to win the 2024 presidential election.

Re-posting your post because it is SPOT ON and saved me typing something similar. Thank YOU:

You guys are blind. Trump had a 2 hour conversation. He called her low IQ and said Biden was stupid for how he was talking about Russia prior to the Ukraine invasion. Kama Kamelon has a 30 second bit and she’ll call Trump a rapist, Hitler and a misogynist pig all in one breath but somehow that doesn’t take away from her positive message? It’s all media spin and framing. They scoured all the chats they could to find JD Vance call out the cat ladies and they spent a week and a half talking about that. This is not a Trump problem, this is a media problem. They are just liars. If Trump went on stage and said, “The border is a disaster and she was in charge of it for the last 8 years. The economy is horrible and she had a role to play” the headline would be, Trump repeats his false border czar claims and “Fact Check: Kamala the Great had nothing to do with inflation”. This is really not a result of Trump or personal attacks. The Republicans who go on “the stations” and say this crap are trying to help the Democrats without coming right out and doing it. They could just as easily tell him on a phone call (which they’d probably leak anyways).

Committed conservatives need to get their butts in gear. Voting for Kamala or staying home when the country is on its last leg is about as non conservative as a person can get.

If conservatives do that, they will be partially responsible for allowing the end of this country over “words”.

Geesh this kind of stuff is pathetic.

She always was. What people like Kellyanne do is just a job to them. She was hired to do the job. It doesn’t necessarily mean she was or even still is on board with Trump.

In fact. SHE ISN’T. She lobbies for Ukraine now so it is easy to see why she made a public statement like this. It certainly was not to help her old boss.

I wouldn’t even be surprised if she votes for Kamala.

Think about how other people doing the same type job Kellyanne had been doing for many years. Nicolle Wallace, Remember when she was working for McCain/Palin? Remember how nasty she was to Palin?

Look where Wallace is now. These people have no lasting loyalties. They are bought.

There is a lot of polling data, albeit much of it skewed,
suggesting the contrary.

Your words. A lot of polling data. It had to come from somewhere.

What I said wasn't touting.

You're comment suggests the contrary, even if the polls and their data are skewed.

It acknowledeges that it is difficult to come up with objective data for citation.

Then why ask for it in the first place?

Is it your normal practice to set someone up to fail?

...the results of the last election alone suggest we do need some.

Now the results of a stolen election are your influence in determination.

Amazing.

How can you argue with this?

“It’s fewer insults, more insights, and that policy contrast.”

Sounds like a winning strategy to me......Why do you have a problem with it?

Any criticism of Trump's campaign implies that Trump is making a mistake.

And Trump doesn't make mistakes. He engages is 47D chess at genius levels far above what us mere mortals can simply comprehend.

I have previously noticed odd keywords on my posts, and not ones I created. I have never added them to anyone's posts, but as I look at this, this is disgusting. And it matters.

These are public, not just behind-the-scenes. You can search the internet for any with quotes around them and you get returned to FreeRepublic. FR is tainted by this.

Maybe this is an inside joke by a few people to undermine the credibility of a poster or FR, but it is wrong and leaves a lasting mark against FR.

I have managed and moderated professional forums with over half-a-million users and this type of garbage can hurt the posters and the organization. It is poisonous and if the site becomes associated with this type of language and ideas, it is difficult to undo.

They need to be removed. If people can't be trusted to enter legit keywords, that functionality needs to be turned off.

These keywords that a couple people are adding maliciously a damning to the site and, John Robinson, to you personally. FR needs to clean them up, stop the people doing this, or lockout keywords. See post 180 and 191.

Here are a couple searches that result in FreeRepublic and John Robinson being directly associated with them. They taint both and everyone on FR and its reputation. Much of this is recent and some has been going on a long time. Here are some examples as seen from a Google Search. You can also open any post and see what has been added, more than a few are offensive and they show general disregard for FR and Freepers. Many are direct insults to fellow Freepers.

Now the results of a stolen election are your influence in determination.

I was referring to 2022, you know, "the last election." It was an election you know. If you think that wasn't heavily impacted by abortion politics I've got bad news for you.

Kellyanne Conway is now a traitor, a registered foreign agent for Ukraine. I’d prefer to never hear from her again except to hear she’s been arrested and jailed, or maybe a casualty in Ukraine. Competing with the Biden’s and others for Ukraine money, her selling her association with Trump, is no different than Hunter selling his to his dad.

You know what I find insulting Kellyanne? I find that a presidential candidate was chosen by the corrupt political bosses without one single vote from a red blooded American citizen. I find it insulting that MSM pundits like yourself say and do nothing about it as America slowly transforms itself into a 3rd world dump. You get paid millions to do nothing except bitch and moan about Trump while Kamala the Incompetent gets away with a political coup d’etat.
