Must be Ukrainian troops or Ukrainian actors pretending to be Russian troops. Or, they could be Russians who disapprove of the war and want o live to see another day.

I heard speculation that Zelenskyyyyy and the Ukrainian people would never go for a 'land for peace' deal with Russia to trade the Donbass region that Russia now occupies for a cease fire, so Ukraine will use the captured Kursk land to trade for peace and to get the Donbass back.

The real answer is to cut off Russian logistics to the south, and because 80-90% of the residents in the border Oblasts would prefer to live in Ukraine. not Russia. Also because they can.
Peace talks when Russia is forced to withdraw from all of UKR and Crimea. This is step one in that process.

Ukraine’s problem is that they will have to HOLD that land in order to use it as a bargaining chip. We’ll see how capable they are of that. I don’t think they are.
That’s the go to chart for the most accurate. I actually followed this war from the beginning solely for the purpose of testing this chart. What some big offensive happens and a lot of Russian troops are lost and equipment reported from multiple sources I see the tally the next day and reflects the number. When a Russian plane falls out of the sky, it’s added the next day so these numbers are very reflective.
There have been leaks out of the Russian government that also reflect these numbers.

Same here. If they do, I would be very surprised - not so much at Ukraine but at Russia.
I think this is also about trying release pressure on Ukrainian forces in Ukraine with Russians having to leave Ukraine to counter the Ukrainian forces now in Russia.
