I had a political science professor in college who proved that “policy” and “issues” are a lot less important than most folks think they are.
He played sections of a Nixon/Kennedy 1960 debate on radio and asked us who won.
Almost everyone said Nixon.
Then he played us the TV version of the exact same sections.
Almost everyone said Kennedy.
