Stunning new figures show how Florida has gone from being a 'purple' state with a roughly-even split between Republicans and Democrats to a deep red GOP enclave.
Florida was once considered the ultimate toss-up state, with Barack Obama winning it twice and the state having Democrat governors and members of the US Senate.
But it has become a GOP stronghold since Republican Governor Ron DeSantis won his gubernatorial election in 2022.

More and more Venezuelans who fled that country when the Mambo Chimp came to power became citizens. Naturally, they HATE Commies.
After being bamboozled by the corporate media into voting for Obama, the younger Cuban generation looked at the open borders, gender insanity, censorship, two tiered policing and outright socialism of the modern Democrat party and realized everything their parents/grandparents/aunts and uncles had told them about how socialists take over was true. They've come home and vote overwhelmingly Republican like the previous generation of Cubans now.
Instead of the usual Left leaning retirees from NY/NJ coming down to replace the previous waves who rapidly died off, Florida started getting a lot more Leftugees from those places and New England. Conservatives from up there were trapped behind enemy lines for years. They were able to just about tolerate it but finally the Democrats just went a little too insane for them. They raised taxes too high. They let too many criminals out of jail or refused to send them. They brought gender insanity to the schools. It just got to be too much and the sane people from up there threw in the towel and left. A lot of them came to Florida. We welcomed them with open arms.
Combine these groups with Florida's traditional Southern (ie Right leaning) population and the Leftards are screwed.
We also need the next Trump administration to tear the administrative state limb from limb throwing a lot of these Leftists out of their cushy government jobs thus forcing them to leave Virginia.
DeSantis did that. I should have mentioned it. You are absolutely correct. Brenda Snipes in Broward and the other crooked Democrat woman in Palm Beach counties. The governor has the power to fire them. Previous Republican governors had been such weak beta cucks that they let these two go on rigging election after election and not doing anything about it. Talking about YOU Jeb Bush.
DeSantis FIRED both of their azzes and hey presto! Like magic the Democrats massive towering margins in these two counties tightened up quite a bit. What an amazing coincidence!.
Oh...and they also learned how to count. It no longer took them 4 or 5 days....until they could see exactly how many trunkfulls of ballots they needed to "find"...to count all the ballots in their counties. Now they are able to do the counting and have the total in that evening....now that A) they are required to report EXACTLY how many ballots they have received EACH day and B) now that honest people are running the vote counting in those two counties. Once the fraud is prevented, suddenly the state ain't so close anymore. Shocker!

I’m not a “FL guy”, but I think that when he was early to open schools, beaches, businesses, etc., during the WuFlu, that was hugely positive for him and the state.

DeSantis has done a terrific job as governor. Getting rid of Brenda Snipes as one of his first official acts has done a great deal to clean up elections in Florida.

Scott won by a fraction of one percent in 2018.
Had Gillum won the election all the corruption would have gone away and he would have been a really strong contender for VP under Biden or now Harris
Black man governor of a major swing state, if the Democrats can ever swing Florida or Texas to solidly blue it would be over for the Republicans
