Unfortunately Rasmussen today is not what Rasmussen once was... they are definitely more of an advocacy organization over a polling one today.
IMHO there has been a slight shift in the race, but 8-10 point swing? Hardly.
The narrative needs to be a big swing, so expect some push polling and outliers to come around to try to skew the polling averages to make the race look tighter.
Right now the narrative is Kamala is the second coming, however I don’t expect that to continue. Trump does need to change the narrative, which he is quite adept at doing... but for the last 2 weeks the Kamala is the 2nd coming has been the headlines and her VP pick gave them a few more cycles... but I don’t see that lasting much longer.
The dem ticket is a ticket to solidify and motivate the base, it won’t change the outcome.... There is no path to 270 for any democrat, let alone 2 hard care liberals.
During Aug polls should swing limp in a light wind. Once the kids get back to school the quacks, the crossdressers, the incompetent and the ill-informed start back affecting local politics the fire of the right is born again. The move towards trump is local outwards, get the K-12 administrators doing what they do, we will have a social issues of the useful idiot party explode into general population minds again in september.
Respectfully, when you learn how to read polls, understand party weighting then you are able to compete with me in explaining polls. Respectfully. Rasmussen keeps a consistent weight of party paticipation that is why not much movement. In their cross tabs DEM 33 GOP 31. These other polls are weighting DEM 41 GOP 29. End of the day it will be GOP 1 or 2, Dem 1 or 2 or about even for the election. See gallup https://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx. Every election is in that range. Never DEM 41 GOP 29 so those are waste of polls and they know it. Believe what you want. Same people giving you the polling narratives same people saying Kamala was not Border Czar. I’m not terribly impressed with how the Trump team has been handling this. They should be hammering (not like Willie Brown) every minute of every day.
