White House officials believe that intensive diplomatic efforts to temper Iran’s retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week may be having an effect, the Washington Post said on Tuesday, while also reporting that the Biden administration was enraged by the timing of the assassination.
The Middle East has been bracing for a possible new wave of attacks by Iran and its allies following Haniyeh’s death, along with the killing of top Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr in an Israeli strike in Beirut hours earlier. While Israel has not commented publicly on Haniyeh’s death, Tehran has blamed Jerusalem and vowed that it must be made to pay the price.
A blitz of diplomatic efforts in recent days has seen the US — along with its allies in the West and the Middle East — push both Iran and Israel to cool tensions and prevent the region from erupting into all-out war.

“Strong diplomatic pressure” usually means “we’re giving out a hell of a lot of money.”
That and pallets of cash?
because they CANT do anything. About as much of a threat as Saddams “republican guard”.
Don’t give up Bibi, we’re with you.
That's what I'm thinking. Sure, the Iranians can lash out but they are probably just going to get themselves into more trouble.
The Iranians may very well sit tight until they think they can produce several nuclear bombs and delivery systems without getting caught. My reading of the Book says that won't work out for them, but that is probably what they are thinking.
Half-measures will probably cost them their oil production facilities and crash their economy. And may very well lead to the loss of their close ally - Kamala Harris.
The administration is going to give them so much money... so much money.
If a regional war erupts, there will be calls for the president to appear before cameras and do something. It will be a repeat performance of the presidential debate.
Dem's can't have that. Russia can't have that and China can't have that so all will put pressure on Tehran to wait until after the votes have been fixed in November.
Headline just below it:
Israel ‘cannot be saved from annihilation,’ says Iranian army commander
That, and the fact they have a niggling idea in the back of their mind that if they DO attack, it might be the LAST thing they ever do.
BS plant story.
Stop attacking Israel, and the problems go away. Uncivilized barbarian Muslims keep attacking Israelis. Forever. Another way to stop the problems, is to kill all Muslims, or force them to change. Their bottom is submit to Islam or die. Works both ways (or should).

Yeah. So, just how much of our money does Biden plan to give the Ayatollahs?
theyve never even tested a nuclear device. You gotta test to make sure its built properly, and to marriage that to a WORKABLE delivery system, they are no where near that. They def cant attack Israel with any kind of armed force without being detected. All they can really do is what theyve done for decades...terrorism.
Take out Kharg Island and Iranian economy ends.
then they better strap in for the retaliation. It wont be pretty.
